“Anthony Gormley statues”

This permanent display is well worth a visit. Blundellsands is on the Northern line but I actually got a minicab (Delta cabs) for a tenner and he took me right to the beach. I was with my Mum who can't walk far but you can also do a walk around a lake which will take you from Blundellsands to Waterloo. The Northern line goes all the way to Southport which is a really pretty seaside town. The town centre has really nice buildings and gardens (as well as the seafront of course) and the indoor market has been renovated. There is a nice café in the market with a sun terrace.

“Breathtaking”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

Attractive, large and mainly well-preserved Victorian villas on the stroll from station to beach. Then... the Gormley installation.
My daughter and I were enchanted by the figures, and particularly their reflections in the wet sand.
We stayed longer than we had anticipated and the incoming tide changed the spectacle completely.
Not an exciting seaside other than the statues, but lots of interest in watching other folk - especially children - reacting to the art.

“Another Great Dog Walk”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

This place is great to either just sit in your car and watch the world go by or take a lovely walk along the coast. I took my springer and he loves going in and out the grass and especially hiding in the old air raid shelters. A cheap day out to take the kids with a picnic oh and the dog!!!! The Antony Gormley statues are fascinating

“Great coast line”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

I walk along here every week with my dog. Is is never the same due to the changing weather and tides. I would recommend anyone going there for a nice walk with some fresh air.
