I love the Walker Art Gallery in many ways. It's free for a start. That's great. I love the sculpture gallery. You can wander round and get up close to study beautiful human figures engaged in various activities (such as reading or walking blindly). If you did that to real live human beings you'd probably pretty soon get assaulted or arrested. I am particularly fond of the gallery directly above which displays 'Blackberry Picking' by Elizabeth Forbes. The foreground to this picture is wonderful and the landscape background is even better. I am also intrigued by the Paul Nash painting. I shall go back to study this further. I don't like the cafe there though. I thought the food and coffee was expensive (and not that good) and (worst of all) the lady who served me seemed expressionless and unfriendly.
