Firstly the children's area downstairs is brilliant. Areas for drawing, listening to music, building and sensory areas make this a great addition for kids. If you do go with Children it's a brilliant opener for them. The rest of the gallery wasn't really to my taste. A lot of the art is quite modern - the tipped up speakers prompted the question "is someone going to fix that" from my 6 year old. Whilst quite amusing, exhibits like the group of stepladders are clearly beyond me. Doesn't compare to the Manchester art gallery in its exhibits in my opinion, but that is purely a matter of individual taste. Altogether, a beautiful building with some interesting art - well worth the visit for a quick stop off.
