Fantastic free Art Gallery, nothing not to like really. Just wander around and enjoy the fabulous art and the wonderful building. Been several times and have always enjoyed the visit, great if the weather is a little inclement or your fed up with the crowds at the Albert Dock.

Could have stayed all day - a beautiful gallery outside and in. A real rival to any in London. An Impressive setting - clean well maintained and thoroughly enchanting.

Light and open, free and quiet on a busy Saturday in July - what's not to like. I'm not an art student or well clued up - so I stroll around and see what takes my fancy. Free admission is perfect for someone like me with a limited attention span. Changing exhibits keep it fresh - the Rankin exhibition Alive:in the face of death was fantastic.

One of the few attractions still free to visit and well worth a few hours in there. Some outstanding paintings and artifacts. A must when visiting Liverpool along with the William Brown library and museum which are all situated next to each other.

This is the title of an exhibition currently at the Gallery, rather than the state of the gallery itself which is vibrant, varied and always a pleasure to visit.
"ALIVE- in the face of death" is a photographic /video presentation, by Rankin, featuring people who have faced death through war, accident or medical diagnoses. All said what their experience has been and what they had learnt from it. It was intensely moving and inspirational. Although compiled recently some of those featured have already died while others are living with life changing injuries. For anyone, like us, on their own " journey", who can get there before it closes on 15th September 2013 it is worth the time and effort.
Regrettably there is no accompanying liteature, other than the " flyer " advertising the event. Excelllent galary cafe can provide a steadying cuppa afterwards..
