After an interesting visit to the well presented Tate Gallery we were gagging for a cup of tea and a piece of cake so visited the Tate's cafe.. What used to be a really good bistro now has tables and chairs straight out of a greasy spoon cafe. The day we vsiited the tea was "off" as they said there was no hot water. We opted for coffees but these were lukewarm and served in small cups. The scone (overpriced at £2.50) was rock hard and when the equally solid butter was applied, it shattered into many pieces. The pigeons flying in and out of the door and eating stray crumbs provided diversionary entertainment.
