This summer's special exhibition is of Chagall. So many lovely paintings and an opportunity to learn a little about the artist and his life.

An excellent gallery, lots of open space and extremely interesting art on display. Great location and worth a visit, if only to get away from the crowds and noise of the Albert Dock for a few minutes.

Brilliant 'description' of Chagall's early work, and explanation of his life / departure from Russia

A 'must see' for anyone who likes Chagalls work, prepare to be enthralled by how his work develops into his later more 'modern' pieces

Thrilled that I was able to fit this visit in, whilst in Liverpool for just a few hours

I have always admired Chagall but did not know much about him or his paintings. I went on the guided tour which was over an hour and it brought every painting to life and helped me to enjoy them with new depth and appreciation. I think it is very fitting that this exhibition was held here as it somehow mirrored the vibrancy and meeting of cultures of the city which Liverpool should be rightfully proud of.

I can remember the Royal Academy Exhibition of Chagall and this Exhibition was sensational. You really need to see the paintings in situ to appreciate his colours. He is very difficult to characterise. He was a dreamer I think and coming to the end of this large Exhibition I feel that he always longed for his homeland. a complex character but he loved Bella his wife and he was a true romantic. do visit, I thoroughly recommend it. the staff were helpful , the only downside was the signage was too small.
