“Good narative”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2013

Glasgow got itself a new transport/maritime museum and threw out any attempt to tell stories or fie, history, in favour of the trendily brittle display of objects with no particular relationship to each other - a model of QE2 beside a tram beside a steam engine etc. In the process it destroyed the wonderful resource on shipbuilding and ship types that was the Clyde Room of the previous museum.
Liverpool has got itself a new maritime museum and one comes out knowing more than when one went in - about the city and port's origin and development, about White Star Line (and inevitably Titanic) about WW2, about painting and ship design. Oh and the building's pretty good too. Pity about the slightly depressing ground floor cafe and its definitely depressed servers. But otherwise full marks to LIverpool from this disgruntled Glaswegian!

Don't know how long we were in the museum but there was so much so see and do - we must have been in for hours. And it was free!

“Titanic Exhibition (a must)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2013

Loved the Maritime Museum but especially the Titanic exhibition which was fantastic and enjoyed using the audio facility they can provide. The other exhibits were worth viewing of course (enjoyed the Battle for the Atlantic and the Slavery Exhibition) - a free few hours spent enjoying ourselves
