A great old pub/dining room. It is a mainstay of many visits but was looking tired on my last trip. It is a great building though and you should nip in for a pint. I was depressed to be told they had no bitter but this was just ignorance of the bar staff as after looking round they did have a guest beer on tap....
Wish there were more well preserved boozers like this left...

“Philharmonic pub and dining”
Reviewed March 20, 2014

Have visited the Phil regularly for many years. Still has it's olde worlde charm. Notice the side rooms namedBrahms and Listz....says it all. Had lunch here last week. Standard fish and chips but service good and food edible. Note [keep this secret] if you sign up to become a friend of the Phil and download a voucher before you go you there is a free pint/glass of wine/soft drink if you order a main meal. this makes lunch very reasonable!

“Sunday lunch ok”
Reviewed March 18, 2014

Pre-concert decided to visit the Philharmonic dining rooms.
The pub is fantastic, one of many in the local area, the first time we have ate here though.
Service was efficient though a bit cool, food was adequate without being wonderful, the price is good though and I would go again pre-concert, handy and quick.

“Stunning building!”
Reviewed March 15, 2014

Really stunning building and friendly staff. The layout feels very strange...it feels like a cavernous gentleman's club, but there are chavs sat round a table drinking lager, bit weird.
