I stayed here last month and thought the hotel was a very nice, modern hotel. You can get cheaper hotels in the city however when we got there the minibar was complementary and the quality of the hotel was certainly worth that little extra.
We had breakfast at the hotel and although it was fairly expensive (£10 each) I guess that's pretty much the going rate at hotels. It was very good food and you could eat as much as you liked.
Would certainly recommend this hotel if your staying in Liverpool.
