We love the Woolton cinema, what a fantastic place. We would rather see a film here that any other cinema in Liverpool. It's full of character, seats are very comfortable, plenty of leg room. The intermission in the middle of the film is fantastic. It gives you the chance to get refreshments, pop to the toilet or even pop out for a smoke. As they have an intermission you don't get annoying people getting up in the middle of the film. It's a proper night out for all the family.

This little cinema house is one of the best in my opinion. It has one screen and looks really small from the outside (don't be fooled) there is ample space inside to watch the film on show in comfort. An intermission at half time appeals for most that need to stretch or visit the toilet. Refreshments were reasonably priced as was the fee to watch the film. Access is restricted at the front of the cinema (8 steps) but once inside (there is alternative access), it is all on one level. There may be a wait to get in as staff are limited but the wait is well worth it for the experience that this picture house offers

Went there to see MU (monsters university) and it was excellent. I loved the cute little chairs and they remained to have cigarette holders!

I love this cinema. It is the most comfortable and has most character of any picture house I know in Liverpool. However.... the last twice I have attended, I have arrived 5 or 10 minutes before the show was due to start only to be kept waiting outside the doors. Last night my party and about 40 other people stood outside for 25 minutes until the doors opened at just after 7.10 for a 7.00pm start time. Fortunately it wasn't raining, as there is absolutely no shelter. On a previous visit we stood outside in the freezing cold. Had it not been for the fact that my young children were so looking forward to the movie, I would have left and gone elsewhere. This cinema relies on people to support it but it doesn't know anything about customer service. The feeble excuse last night was, ''We had 200 people in for the last show' - she failed to mention the last show was at 1.45 in the afternoon. Come on Woolton, get your act together if you want customers to keep coming back...

Dear Customer;

On behalf of the Woolton Picture House we regret to hear about your unfortunate experience when visiting the cinema. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience that was caused by the delay of the film screening.

We would like to explain to yourself and all our customers the cause for your delay; to ensure that all information you may have received is correct. Please note: the following explanation is by no means a justification for the occurrence and action has been taken to rectify this.

The screening you relate to was delayed due to a Charity event that the Woolton Picture House was hosting that commenced at 4:30pm and the vast number of 200 guests that attended the event. As a result, we understand that there was a slight delay in entering the cinema and miss-guided information being provided by our dedicated staff members; for this we can only provide our sincere apologies.

Woolton Picture House endeavours to provide a high standard of service to all its valued customers but we can admit that on this occasion we may have fallen short due to the personal service we aim to provide our customers and regrettably lack of sheltering that you have mentioned. If we can take this opportunity to elucidate on the lack of sheltering that is available to our customers:

the lack of shelter/canopy is due to the age of the building and conservation area restraints. Please note: that every effort is being made by Woolton Picture House to rectify this situation.

Again, we would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by our screening delay and would like to express our appreciation to all our customers. As your continued support helps maintain Woolton Picture House as Liverpool’s last remaining single screened cinema. We would also like to ensure to all customers, that measures have been taken to limit the occurrence of delays in the future and provide a high standard cinematic experience when visiting us.

Yours sincerely,
Woolton Picture House

What a great little cinema with all original features and charm. Lovely friendly staff and cheap tickets too. Orange Wednesday makes tickets only £3.00 each if two share ticket price! Parking in nearby streets is convenient, close by and free.

Visited lots of times and would definitely recommend!
