We have stayed on the Albert Docks Holiday Inn Express three or four times and have always had a good experience.

The location is great for visiting Liverpool for the weekend as there are plenty of bars and restaurants on Albert Dock and it is a short walk to the shopping area, Liverpool One, where there are lots more places to eat. Close to the hotel are the Echo Arena, Tate Liverpool, The Beatles Story, The Maritime Museum, and The International Slavery Museum. Further along the river you can take the famous "ferry 'cross the Mersey".

The hotel building is a converted warehouse and the rooms facing the docks still have the large original windows so you get a great view (we always ask for one of these rooms). They are spacious and the beds are very comfortable.

Although the hotel doesn't have a restaurant they do serve a complimentary buffet breakfast in the foyer dining area. There is a limited selection of basic hot and cold foods and although it was fine for us, and we has plenty to eat, the standard of food doesn't really match with the quality of the rooms. Despite this we though it was good value and plan to stay here again next time we visit Liverpool.

Have stayed here twice now - love the way the rooms have been converted from the old warehouse including modern comfort but keeping original features such as the vaulted brickwork ceilings and original windows (behind modern double glazing for comfort!)
Views over the Albert dock or the Mersey are brilliant - this part of Liverpool is now a modern lively museum and restaurant area.
Rooms are simply but stylishly furnished, beds are comfortable, and the wi fi is free.
Reception staff are friendly and helpful, gave us a city map and made sure we knew where we had to get to next day.
Breakfast is ok - reasonable choice of continental and cooked items served buffet style.
No restaurant, but plenty of places to eat within a few minutes walk.
If you arrive by car, the main entrance is obvious, but on foot the map directs you to the back entrance (from the dock side) which you need your room card to open.
Overall, a good place to stay - a real sense of being in Liverpool but much quieter than the city centre.

Room Tip: Ask for a view over the Albert Dock or the Mersey.

Pleased to hear that you enjoyed your recent stay with us. As a Grade I listed buidilng we have ensured that as many of the buildings original features remain present in the hotel today, thus giving us the wonderful room design. Great to hear that the team were helpful and assist with local information.

Stayed here for 2 nights to attend the Echo Arenas boxing.
Have done this before but thankfully previously stayed at the Premier Inn Albert Dock. This time The Premier Inn was full, we love the converted warehouse style and so booked the Holiday Inn Express at the end of the Dock. All was OK with the exception of 2 things; the atrocious breakfast (deep fried cheap sausages, bought in scrambled eggs and baked beans)
And secondly the thinnest, noisiest, least soundproofed floors known to man. How can basically the same warehouse shell have been converted so well by Premier Inn yet so badly by Holiday Inn ?!
Great, great shame

My boyfriend and I booked this hotel on a Monday night after a concert many months in advance. When an important event occurred on the Tuesday morning, I thought we would loose the money on our non-amendable room. However, when I called the hotel directly the receptionist (Charlotte) was very helpful. After asking her manager I was informed of the nights I could change to with no additional charge and the nights with a small charge.

When we stayed we were given a twin room. After returning to the reception to ask for a double room we were swifty changed. The bed was one of the best I've stayed in, with a variety of hard and soft pillows available. The room was spacious with tea and coffee making facilities and a fantastic view. The bathroom was also very nice.

Wi-fi and breakfast were also included in the price. I can't comment on the wi-fi but the breakfast was poor. The hot buffet consisted of beans, sausage and scrambled eggs, all of which needed replacing.

Overall, I would stay here again but expect a cold breakfast (cereal/fruit) or go elsewhere.

Stayed there for one night with my husband. The staff are really nice and the hotel clean and tidy. The area is far nicer than staying in main city, and an ideal base for shops and restaurants. If I were going back there I would stay at this hotel again, it included a buffet style breakfast included in the price.

We've stayed at a number of Holiday Inn Expresses over the years and think it is the best of the value hotel offerings on the market. However, what makes this one different is the building and location - we've never stayed in one so good!

The location in the Albert Dock is second to none really, you have the Echo Arena, the dockside attractions and the shopping district all on your doorstep. The place has a real buzz to it and it is great to see. The building is fabulous. The rooms and facilities are very much Holiday Inn Express standard, but vaulted brick roofs in the public areas, the old warehouse windows in your bedroom, and the old warehouse doors in the corridors add a real touch of charm! You could pay a lot more these authentic details elsewhere.

Also notable about this hotel was the quality of the reception staff and their welcome. Don't know if this was just the Liverpool way, but certainly it was a warmer and more friendly welcome that we've had in many other places. Really appreciated.

Highly recommended and would return again.

Location wise you cannot ask for anything better as it so close to the Liverpool Arena, The Albert Dock and Liverpool One etc. Fantastic use of an old Warehouse which has created really lovely bedrooms. We were lucky enough to have a view of the Albert Dock. All Staff that we met were very friendly and helpful. The bar is bright with a good variety of drinks. All in all this is a lovely hotel to use as a base for a stay in Liverpool in great surroundings.
