“Would stay again.”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

The hotel is in an excellent spot, surrounded by the shops and restaurants on Albert Dock. In easy walking distance of Liverpool 1 shopping area and The Cavern. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and the rooms fresh and roomy. Ours faced the Liverpool eye and Echo arena, making it the ideal choice for an overnight stay after a show there. If I had to be really picky, it was that I booked two rooms about seven months ago for the four of us and although we were on the same floor our rooms were far apart and the breakfast was good, but not much choice. The staff were all pleasant and polite and are all a credit to the company. I would definately return here and would recommend it to my friends and family without hesitation

Thank you for your comments, the team will be appreciative as they do work hard to deliver the highest cleanliness and service standards possible. We do try to allocate all rooms within a party as close together as possible, sometimes this isn't possible due to the types of rooms booked. If you are planning on staying with us again give the hotel a call prior to your arrival and one of the team can allocate your rooms closer together.

I have stayed here twice now, what a fantastic hotel.
I love the exposed brickwork and original pillars and beams in the rooms. The rooms are super clean, spacious and pleasent with amazing views either over the docks or the Liverpool Eye.
Breakfast is continenal but you can make sausage sandwiches or have scrambled egg/. beans on toast. It is serve yourself and we found all the food to be of a great standard.
The staff are so friendly and welcoming.
The only con is the parking. TO be parked next to the hotel you will need £12 per night. Apparently the reception advise nearby car parks that are more cost effecive bu we didn't ask so you may as well add £8-12 on to your nightly budget. I understand city parking is at a premium so I think most people would understand this.
We will definitely stay again.

Great to hear that you don't want to stay any where else when you visit Liverpool - it is wonderful to hear when people have enjoyed their stay that they will stay with us again.
As you mentioned in your review the discounted car parking that we offer is in the multi storey car park a few mintues walk from the hotel which is £7.50 per 24 hours.

Stayed here for a couple of nights after visiting Manchester.
Parking is quite expensive but the hotel offers a discount if parked in a nearby multi storey car park. Its not really close to the hotel so not really convenient if you have a lot of luggage.

There are a few shopping centres nearby for leisure and the docks have a few decent restaurants to dine at,

Room was clean, pretty basic but pretty spacious. Breakfast came with our stay but we couldn't wake up for it.
Female Staff at check in was polite and friendly, male staff at check out didn't seem really happy to serve customers which is a shame.
No dust or wear and tear, pillows and bed was comfy, radiator in room could be a little more powerful as the hotel is located by the docks, rooms can get real chilly in the evening!!

Pleased to hear that your room and cleanliness standards within the hotel met with your expectations - our housekeeping team work hard to maintain these standards.
In terms of parking with our discount voucher for the multi storey car park the cost is £7.50 per 24 hours - this car park is a few minutes walk from the hotel, however the hotel does have a drop of zone which guests are able to use whilst they check in our out of the hotel.
We strive to deliver the highest levels of customer service at all times which I'm pleased to hear you experience on check in, I will certainly review our check out standards with the team.

Stayed at this hotel 3 times now over the past 4 months and has never failed.

Location - Brilliant.

Price - Excellent.

Comfort - 7-8/10

Breakfast is also very good which is a surprise as most hotel breakfast are rubbish. Really enjoyed each time!

With it being in a old building the actual hotel is huge. You wouldn't think that by looking at it.

Great views either of the big wheel or the docks.

You will enjoy if you stay here.

I will be returning.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights on a short visit to Liverpool. The hotel is situated right in Albert Dock and a 15 minute walk from Lime Street station.
We were welcomed very warmly at check in and our room had a great view overlooking the dock. The room was ideal for a short stay and it had all the usual facilties.
The breakfast was quite ordinary, but as we paid just over £60 per room per night I consider it an excellent deal.
I would recommend visiting the many museums close to the hotel. Most have free admission, we paricularly enjoyed the Museum of Liverpool. Plus a visit to Matthew Street and the Cavern and other clubs is a must (even though it is now like a Beatles theme park).
I will certainly stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Albert Dock next time I visit Liverpool.

The hotel, was ideally situated within walking distance of shops, resturants etc on the doorstep. Liverpool docks is a lovely place to stay plenty to do you don't need to venture out. If you do want to explore the shops more i'd say 15 min walk to liverpool one were there is plenty of shoppin to be done. Plenty of pubs and resturants. Only thing i'd say to do is fine were you want to eat out before you go,as everything was booked up till 10pm! We ended up at casa italia and got a table fr 9pm. Was gorgeous italian food tho at very reasnoble price so was worth the wait! Only thing i'd say was it was very close to a lapdancing bar...
The hotel was lovely and clean. Rooms spacious with gorg bay windowns. We had the view of the docks and loved the beatles exp downstairs playing music below . You obv have to be a fan of beatles tho to appreciate this. Breakfast wasn't that great do it yourself style toast etc. And there was no bacon and no fried eggs, just awful scrambled egg that was very runny . Lots of fruit cereals and pastries to choose from tho if u didn't fancy the cooked breakfast. We also went on the liverpool eye that was good fun although bit expensive at 7 pounds each! Yet 20 for a family of 4. You did get to go around about 3 times tho. One thing we did want to do but didn't have enough time was go on the yellow duck boats they looked great fun. If you're lookin for a place to stay in liverpool i'd defo recommened this hotel, esp being on the docks.

Thank you for taking the time to post such a detailed review - other travellers will certainly find it useful. I was really shocked to read that the restaurants were so busy, I presuming you stayed on a Saturday night or when there was a concert on? The team on reception are always happy to help with restaurant suggestions and bookings on check in.
With regards to breakfast we are constantly trying to improve this area, only this week we have delivered further team training to improve on our service and quality standards.
Pleased to hear you enjoyed your time in Liverpool
