Lunch on a bank holiday Monday. Very busy venue and excellent variety of dishes on the lunch offer. Highly recommended.

Good tapas in the middle of Liverpool, good selection on the menu, there were a few items sold out when we visited in the evening. Good portion sizes, we ordered 2 medium/rare steak tapas and both were overdone. The remaining dishes we ordered were all very good though.

Having lived in Madrid for three years Tapas is one of our favourite ways of eating and we weren’t disappointed. We shared a starter of toast with tomato and manchego. Our Tapas choices were Slow braised shoulder of lamb........
Malaga fried fish..........
Triple cooked chunky chips..........
We finished with Churros.......
Absolutely delicious and would definitely recommend.

I really can't rave about this place enough - me and my best friend went last night, and had the best tapas we've ever had, and that includes tapas we've had in Barcelona. Inventive but still authentic and the cava was delicious too. The tortilla was on another level as the onions or shallots had been caramelised, the toast with tomato and manchego was just divine - imagine the best cheese on toast ever. The deep friend Mont Enebro cheese with pickled melon and apricot puree was incredible. Neither or us generally like sweet with savoury, but I can't begin to describe how well all these flavours work together. Even the torched figs with roasted grapes, onions and ricotta on sour dough worked. The octopus was a masterclass in flavour and it melted in the mouth. And the hake pil pil is possibly the best fish dish I've ever eaten (and I eat enough fish to shame a seal). The tempura cauliflower was another highlight - I've never had a more delicious cauliflower dish. Just amazing. The only criticism - and this is because we're both salt fiends - is that the padron peppers could have been saltier. The service was faultless, and we loved all the music that was being played - it's nice to hear some alternative/indie stuff for a change. I just wished I lived in Liverpool - we were there for a weekend break. We'll definitely be back - or else, please can you open a branch in London?

Popped in for tapas after watching the Tall Ships leave the Mersey. It was a lovely sunny afternoon and Nick suggested we enjoy a cool beer inside while waiting for a table outside. Within 10 minutes we were seated outside where a lovely Spanish girl named Carmen took out order.
We chose the Pork Belly from the specials, the Ribs, the Lamb, the Prawns in Garlic, the Hake Pil Pil, and the Padron Peppers. Every single dish was absolutely delicious and what made the meal even better was the fact that the dishes were served at intervals rather than all at once.
Carmen kept us well served with jugs of chilled water and ice to go with a nice bottle of Acantus Sauvignon Blanc. We even found room for desserts and enjoyed a Creme Catalina and a lovely Lemon Cheesecake. Coffee and an Amaretto on ice finished a lovely meal in the sun.
Throughout our visit service was warm and friendly and we never felt rushed at any time. Nick was a really nice host and at one point left the restaurant to escort an elderly lady with special needs, to the nearby pedestrian crossing. What a lovely guy!
We used to go to another Tapas Restaurant nearby but our last visit was very disappointing and we are so glad that we tried the Salt House today. Thanks Nick and Carmen - we look forward to our next visit!
