I booked the secret garden suite for my dad's birthday, we arrived to find a room that took our breath away! I did not expect it to be as big as it was, the garden itself has outdoor lighting and the full length curtains are electrically operated! Room was clean, and beds were made up lovely! Two huge TVs, one on both floors and the bathroom is out of this world! Best shower I've ever had! Two sinks aswell, so no fighting over them in a morning! Full sized fridge with freezer.

Only downside is when you are sat in the garden, all the other rooms are looking down into it, and it seems to echo any noise made in rooms that have their windows open. There are two toilets in the room, but both are located on the bottom floor. This is a pain if you get up in the night because you wake everyone up walking through their "room" (the room itself is open planned). We also asked for directions to the italian that the hotel gives a discount of 15% on. The lady on reception gave us a map (turned out to be very helpful) but sent us in the wrong direction to get to where we needed to be! Made us walk a lot further than needed, so obviously had no clue and ended up making us late for our reservations.

These were the only bad points about our stay, my dad thoroughly enjoyed it and wants to come back, he loved how close all the attractions were to the hotel too, the cavern is a very short walk away, as is Albert Docks and Liverpool One. There is also a Tesco at the end of the road below the carpark that you can get a 24hr voucher for from reception.

Room Tip: Highly recommend the secret garden room, more expensive but so worth it!

HI CharlieandDean, that’s such a lovely review and apologies about the misunderstanding with the reception direction, usually they are extremely good. Most of our team are local and know the right directions, so again I apologise. The Italian Club Fish is truly delicious though, so hopefully the extra 5 min walk worked up an appetite! I am delighted to read that you had a great time in our Secret Garden Suite, and hope to see you again soon for another amazing time in our hotel jewel.

I booked this hotel having seen reviews in The Times and Guardian. I was not disappointed. The main reason for booking was that they did not discriminate against single travellers - as it was I was upgraded to a Double.
I pre booked a continental breakfast but decided to eat out for evening meals but liked the idea that you could use the microwave in your room.
Excellent location for all the attractions in Liverpool.
Staff extremely friendly.
Thoroughly recommend!

We booked based on reviews on Tripadvisor and we were certainly not disappointed. Situated in a really central spot, everywhere was in walking distance. The room was clean, well designed and even with 3 adults in the room we were not cramped. All staff on the reception were polite and friendly and willing to offer advice and help. The tea/coffee and milk was replenished everyday which is unusual. Our stay of 3 nights offered extremely good value.

Hi MagiM, thanks for your lovely review. I will pass your compliment to Damian, though I expect he will have already read the review, as all our staff read these avidly. Thanks again for mentioning our wheelchair friendly facilities, as its very important for us to be able to provide the same service to everyone visiting us. Walking up towards this hotel was grim , lots of bins and derilect buildings, got to Base2stay , nice reception and efficient helpful staff. Our room was just Grey, the bed low down on the floor and not comfortable, and our room was quite small. There is a fairly well equiped, ( apart from spoons& cutlery!) kitchenette behind some grey doors that were covered in mucky fingerprints, I first noticed the fingerprints!!!! We were on 3rd floor and all i could hear was the squeaking noise of people walking around upstairs and the early morning squeaking!! It was the bed the greyness the fingerprints and the horrible duvet that got to me and generally wasnt comfortable. I suppose ok if you just want to rest your head. The bathroom was good though , shower and facilties in there very nice, but wasnt my cup of tea generally, and wont be staying here again. It was close to main attractions, go to The Cavern quarter, about a 15 min walk, such good fun really enjoyed visiting Liverpool .

Hi lindanorthants,. I am pleased you enjoyed Liverpool but disappointed to read your views of the RopeWalks and our hotel. Incidentally, the walls are green, not grey, when they aren’t the original brick. Seel street, where we are based, is in the heart of Liverpool City centre and although some building await renovation, many others that have been fully restored, such as our own 19th century building, contributing to the unique and quirky characteristic of the area. I am sorry that you didn’t find our bed, which is a standard height off the floor, comfortable enough as we usually get lots of compliments about them. I also apologise for the fingerprints on the kitchenette door. This is rare and I will check directly with the housekeeping team to make sure that this won’t happen again.

Stayed for 2-nights during the recent Liverpool International Music Festival. In a great, central, location that is close to all ameneties such as Liverpool One, Pier Head, Albert Docks and Matthew Street. Room was modern, clean, well equipped (air con, microwave, fridge, cutlery etc) and had character (exposed roof beams). The team on Reception were very polite, efficient and friendly. Just a shame about some very noisy guests playing musical doors at 4 am! Would use Base2Stay again.

I had to visit Liverpool for business and was recommended to stay at this hotel. It was modern, clean, affordable and centrally located to everything I needed.

It is within easy walk of the cool Bold Street area which has lots of vintage shops and boutique restaurants, cafes and bars, but also not far from the main shopping high street, LiverpoolOne and the Albert Dock.

I went mid week, but could see that there were lots of bars and clubs around the area too, so would be perfect for a leisure stay.

The room was MASSIVE! Massive bed, seating area, dressing area, desk and a massive bathroom too. i could certainly not complain about the room size! There were the usual complimentary toiletries and it was great to see that there were some good size towels!

The room also came with a cute mini kitchen (microwave, sink, crockery etc) so if you wanted to eat in you could. I however took advantage of the recommendations from reception and booked at one of their partner restaurants and enjoyed a discount too!

Free wifi, a hair dryer and tea and coffee were some more added extras that made my stay very enjoyable indeed.
