One of the best hotels in Liverpool.

Very secure as you need to swipe your key card to get into the building and even to use the lifts!

Surprisingly quiet, even tho it's just 5 min walk from the city centre.

Rooms are really nice, the mini kitchen is a plus! Nice new tvs in every room, good quality bathroom towels an cosy beds :)

In Liverpool for an exam: wanted quiet, comfortable accommodation that wasn't going to cost a fortune. Base2stay was a great choice. Ten minutes walk from Lime Street Station, and would be a great base for exploring Liverpool. Very stylish building, friendly, helpful staff. Room attractive, spacious, clean. Air con gave comfortable room temperature, although no opening windows. Beds very comfortable. Desk to study at & free Wifi. Bathroom large, very clean, nice toiletries, lots of hot water. Kitchenette clean and functional: everything I needed to have my microwave dinner and breakfast in the room (Tesco very nearby). Very quiet indeed despite lots of other guests around. And excellent value. Other reviews mention that surrounding area is a bit run down, and parts of it are.. but don't let that put you off. Will use Base2stay again.

Hi Sarah H, I hope your exams went well. Let us know! Thanks for pointing out so many of the features that make us a little special (we think!). I am also pleased that you found the room a good environment in which to work, and the mini kitchen useful. It also adds to the whole value of a longer stay. The RopeWalk, where we are, is one of Liverpool’s oldest central neighbourhoods so there are still some buildings in need of upgrading, but that’s also part of its charm, and why Seel Street was voted third trendiest street in the UK in the Google Street View awards last year. We hope you return soon.

Stayed for a conference at the docks - this hotel was handily located, although the surrounding area (bars and kebab shops) wasn't the nicest. However, the building is very nice - neatly and professionally appointed. Check-in staff were friendly and helpful through the swift process. Had booked a single room, got upgraded to a twin. Room was spacious, plenty of storage space. Kitchenette and fridge were a good idea. Bathroom was large, shower perfectly decent. Bed was fine; a little on the hard side, but I'm quite light so would probably suit a lot of people. Mostly quiet overnight, but the aircon flues tended to whisper a bit. Cleaning was good, but I think they changed the towels daily even when I didn't want them to. Excellent value for the price, can see why it's rated number 2.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Unique atmosphere, complete with exposed beams and interior brick walls. Especially appreciated the mini kitchen, which was great. Easy walking to all the main sights: Liverpool One, Albert Docks, The Tate, Liverpool Museum.

Unfortunately reception neglected to mention the parking discount to us on check-in. That amounted to a very expensive oversight that cost us 10 pounds. May not be a lot to some, but for us that's quite a lot, especially when it could have been avoided. Left a bitter taste after a pleasant visit.

Hello Eurochick 60, I am really sorry for the oversight in respect of car parking. Not all guests advise that they have parked in the Q Park, where we have our discount arrangement, but it’s up to us to check, and this is a good reminder that we need to do this every time. I am pleased however that all other aspects of your stay with us and your visit to Liverpool were a success.

Welcoming, friendly staff. Comfortable room, loved the little kitchen. Trendy, edgy area, walking distance to all other areas - dock, shops, restaurants, and main places to visit. Another plus is Liverpool Central Station just round the corner for travel to Crosby, and Port Sunlight. This really was an excellent location in a well-run, clean hotel, which I would happily recommend for anyone contemplating a trip to Liverpool. Liverpool itself is also a great place to visit.

It’s always great to read a review that appreciates the area we are in and our great city, as much as our hotel, so thanks Jo B. Please come back soon.

This hotel is: modern but comfortable, trendy yet welcoming, convenient for town but not rowdy and reasonably-priced while being good quality.
It is within walking distance of Albert Dock, shops and restaurants at Liverpool One and is slap, bang in the middle of the Ropewalks area.
It is also a positive that this hotel DOES NOT have a cafe/bar or restaurant because there is an abundance of funky bars (like the hidden gem that is the beer garden of The Liverpool Academy Of Arts) and eateries such as Alma De Cuba on its doorstep.
Tourist attractions easily within walking distance include: Merseyside Maritime Museum; Tate Liverpool and The Beatles Story.
Also worth a visit is the Planet - a boat that is permanently docked at Canning Dock and is a welcoming cafe/bar ran by Alan Roberts.
Would definitely visit Base2Stay again as the staff - from the housekeepers to the assistant general manager - are helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them.

Room Tip: All rooms have great bathrooms and tea/coffee facilities with a microwave and little fridge.

The location is very central and perfect for me. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The rooms are great because they have mini kitchens so you can do basic eating and drinking without going out and spending a lot. This is important if you're using it as a base for working away from home, which is what I do. My only issue is the heat and stuffiness of the rooms overnight. If only I could open a window it would be perfect. if I ever change location it would be for this reason only. The quilts are heavy and I can't have the air con on overnight as it is so noisy. For a country girl who likes fresh air, it is a big minus.

Hello 793Andrea, I am pleased to read that so many elements of our offer suited you. Let me reassure you, as I have noted previously, that there is ducted fresh air at all times into all rooms. The non opening windows are a planning requirement, so this is an alternative means of providing fresh air. I apologise if the a/c was noisy. We regularly check this and will review whether our procedures are sufficient. Because of our triple glazing, our rooms are generally extremely quiet, and that can mean that slight noises seem more intrusive than if there was background traffic noise for instance. We hope you will try us again!
