“A great place to stay”
Reviewed March 21, 2011

I thoroughly recommend staying here for anyone visiting Liverpool. Having stayed at various other hotels in the city I've yet to find one so well located and well equipped for the same kind of money. The rooms are excellent and well equipped, the staff are friendly and very helpful. In fact my only quibble was that when the people in the room adjoining ours started talking and laughing early in the morning it sounded almost like they were in the room with us. Other than that it was an absolutely brilliant weekend.

Dear Mr Man,

Thank you for taking the time to write a wonderful review. The hotel is chosen by many of our guests for its location in the Ropewalks area of the City, being just a few minutes walk to all the most popular restaurants and bars in Liverpool.

I was very pleased that you found the hotel team were very friendly and helpful and that you thought our rooms were excellent and well equipped.

I was sorry to read that you were disturbed in the early hours due to the noise from the adjoining room, I will ensure this is looked into as a matter of urgency and do hope that your sleep was not disturbed too much.

It is only through guest feedback that we can continuously improve our offer and we thank you for your contribution.

We look forward to welcoming you back to base2stay Liverpool.

Everything is top-notch about this place. Excellent location right in the heart of the city. Spotless and very spacious rooms with a modern twist. The interiors of the hotel are very impressive, specially considering the very reasonable price. Reception staff are also very friendly.

Highly Recommended on all counts.

Great place to stay with a location directly in Liverpool city centre, just a few minutes walk from most of the tourist attractions.
The room was very nice, clean and modern with the little kitchen a great way to keep costs down. Even though it is situated right in the middle of the clubbing area, we didn't hear any outside noise and slept soundly.
Only downside is the lack of parking. There is a large car park approx 2 mintue walk away but to park for the weekend (even with the discount) cost us £20.
I would definately recommend the hotel to others.

I literally cannot fault this hotel. On arrival we did have trouble finding it because it's all one way streets. We also had trouble finding a car park (who then tried to charge us over £30 for overnight parking , until we complained!) but that was nothing to do with the hotel itself. The location is excellent, literally a 2 minute walk to concert square (the pub and club central of Liverpool) and 5 minutes to the LiverpoolOne shopping complex. Even though it was so close, you would never guess once you were in the room. It was completely silent! Staff were really friendly and did everything they could to help, they even suggested some places for me to visit because it was my first time in Liverpool. Beautiful, warm reception area and lounge with free espresso machine. Superbly clean, beautiful room with a massive bed and intenet TV (Which was free!!). Even though there was no bar or resturant there was a fantastic little kitchenette with a microvave, counter and sink and plates, cutlery, kettle etc provided. There are so many rooms to choose from too, aswell as single rooms for business travellers they have apartments for families and groups. They also provide discounts at various near-by bars and resturants, which personally, I think is a wonderful idea. Booked from LateRooms for £50 per room per night, absoloute bargain for such a WONDERFUL hotel. I cannot praise it enough.

Dear Hollyjfisher

Thank you for your wonderful review of base2stay Liverpool. I was very pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay with us. Our value rooms are designed to appeal to both the business and leisure traveller and indeed families. Our hotel concept has just won the Families Travellers Choice award for London on this site.

The hotel’s location benefits from being within a few minutes’ walk of most of the popular bars and restaurants in Liverpool. Exclusive discount vouchers for many of the restaurants and bars nearby can be obtained from our reception and concierge team.. We are also a few minutes away from Liverpool’s shopping and business districts and both Liverpool’s Lime Street and central stations, for those without cars.

I was sorry to hear the difficulties that you encountered with the car park. The hotel does have a special discount arrangement with Q Park on Hanover Street for our guests with overnight parking from as little as £3.00. With your valuable feedback in mind, we will ensure this is communicated to all our guests in future, prior to their arrival.

Once again thank you for your review and I look forward to welcoming you back to base2stay very soon.

Stopped at base2stay in liverpool for 3 nights in February 11. Great location, near to all attractions and bars/pubs/restaurants. Spotless room. Great reception staff. Kitchenette a great idea - with microwave and mini fridge. Large tesco at end of seel street to buy all your goodies - wine, chocs etc !!! Bit of a trawl round old haunts for me as i come from liverpool - Brilliant !!! Even went to the iconic cavern club and had a fab night singin along to beatles songs. Would highly recommend this hotel to others and cant wait to stay again. xx

Upon arrival had to check in for ten rooms we all had our keys and was checked in within 15 minutes max. Very friendly and frofessional reception staff. Rooms very modern, clean, with all amenities required. Location is ideal for those seeking the liverpool nightlife as close to pubs and clubs but without being kept awake all night. Would strongly recommend had a fab time!! We'll be back defo!!

Stayed here with my partner after a night out in Liverpool. Brilliant huge room on the top floor with city views. Spotlessly clean throughout. Despite it being on a road surrounded by bars you couldn't hear anything from inside the room. Just as nice as The Malmaison and half the price. Location great too only a 5 mins walk to the centre of Liverpool. Parking at the Q Park is £10 for 24 hours which is very good for any city centre. The voucher though from the hotel for £1 off did not work but not really bothered about that. Would definitely stay here again!

Dear CWSCheshire

Thank you for your kind feedback. My team and I were very pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay with us. Our location is central and only a few minutes’ walk away to all that the city has to offer including the Liverpool One shopping Centre Liverpool’s best bars and restaurants and both train stations.

Our bedrooms come with triple glazed windows and heavily lined acoustic curtains as standard to ensure maximum comfort from the hustle and bustle of the city centre and to facilitate a peaceful and relaxing stay.

It is regretful to read that your Q Car Park discount voucher did not work as it should. Our special arrangement with Q Car Park in Hanover Street includes overnight parking from as little as £3.00. I will take this up with Q Park to prevent the same inconvenience from reoccurring.

I do hope we have the opportunity of welcoming you back to the hotel in the not so distant future.
