Very friendly staff and welcome at reception. Lovely bedroom, nice decor, crisp, white cotton bedding, good size TV. Big shower, plenty of white fluffy towels. Very good room service menu. Very nice restaurant for breakfast with a good selection, friendly table service and not buffet. Great location.

We came to Liverpool for our first wedding anniversary and booked Heywood House very last minute based on its Tripadvisor reviews. I can confirm that all the positive reviews are absolutely correct! The hotel is an amazing location - 2 minutes from the docks and 2 minutes from Liverpool One! When we arrived they saw that we'd mentioned it was our wedding anniversary and they upgraded us to a balcony - such a lovely gesture and the first time this has ever happened to us so it made the weekend even more special. The room was comfortable and the shower nice and hot even though we were on the top floor. The staff are all lovely and even let us print off our tickets to the Liverpool Food & Drink Festival. Breakfast is served next door at The Noble House and I can honestly say is the best breakfast I've ever had in a hotel. We also ate there on Saturday night and the food was lovely.

We booked this through laterooms.com and got a really good deal.

It was very easy to find and right in the centre of things, ideally situated between the docks and the city centre, which was perfect for our needs (Tate/gig/nightlife). The staff were friendly and looked after our bags when we arrived far too early for check in.

The hotel is beautifully decorated throughout and felt luxurious without being stuffy. The beds were very comfortable and the room came with a good tea selection. The bathroom was stocked with nice toiletries and everything in the room was spotlessly clean. It felt like a real treat being there, we almost didn't want to leave the room!

The only problem we had was a crack in a mug the next morning, which was sorted out in seconds after a call to reception.

Lovely staff, beautiful surroundings, would definitely go back if I'm in Liverpool again.

We went on a kgb deal, as is the case with quite a few people posting on this site. We got a good deal, but not sure I would pay the rack rate for what we got.
All the staff we saw were young and attractive, fitting in well with the chic, boutique vibe of the place.
Security is good, as you need your key card to get into the lift, or to get through each landing door if you use the stairs.
Rooms are small, but you get a big flat screen, wall-mounted tv, a BOSE iPod docking station, ironing board and iron, luxurious looking wallpapers and burgundy satin all over the place. Bathroom is small again, though very nice and the shower and cubicle highly effective.
Location perfect for all the visitor attractions, but no hotel parking, so we paid £28 for two days at nearby QPark.
On weekday mornings, BBC News 24 is projected on a large screeen in the breakfast room.
Three gripes: the details which would have made our stay great -
1. Housekeeping/Cleaning not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. We went out for the day, returning for a brief visit to the room about 16.30. Room had not been cleaned. We found housekeeping supervisor on our way to the lift and asked him about it. He said cleaners were still working their way through all the rooms and would do ours. We thought this was leaving things a bit late, but off we went back into the city for more exploring. When we came back we found the room had been given the most superficial attention - only the bed had been made, but not changed. Glasses not washed, nothing tidied, and the lavatory still had the same little bit of toilet paper floating in it as when we had left. In short, they had not cleaned at all. The towels had been changed.
2. On our second and last day we went down to breakfast, anxious to eat and get back to the room to shower and be ready to check out in time. It turned out there was just one waiter trying to cover all the tables, which meant service was very slow. I had to go to Reception to request a 30 minute extension to our check out time and then chase up the waiter to request he bring us our breakfast so we could get moving.
3. A bottle of wine was included in our deal but there was no bottle of wine in the room and no mention of it when we checked in. I went back down and asked at Reception about it, whereupon the girl was very helpful, offered me a choice of red or white and even fetched us a couple of proper wine glasses from the bar so we could enjoy the wine in our room. I would have preferred not to have had to go and chase it in the first place, but the Receptionist's response was good.
4. Two sets of pillow are left in the room - However, one set is far too soft, the other far too hard, and one of each is too bulky.
Sorry if this review seems to be focusing on the negative, but I was left with the impression that as we were kgb deals customers we didn't matter so much and so received second class service. If that was the case I wish we had just paid for a budget hotel with cheap and cheerful service.
If we got the same service as everyone else, then I am still glad we didn't pay full price: I would have been just as upset.
In short, Heywood House Hotel needs to sort the details.
Even at Travelodge they clean the toilets, and you can tell immediately that the cleaners have been in your room.
Overall, I think they are understaffed, which lets the whole place down

Room Tip: Rooms over the front of hotel offer slightly better views, but are on top of the Slaughterhouse, and...

Like others, went to Heywood House on an offer- soooo glad we did!! The hotel itself is lovely,, my style of decor thoughout. Fab and helpful staff, clean and spacious room, nothing to fault.
The extra 'icing on the cake' was Noble House next door- not only were the breakfast toasties mentioned by others scrumptious and the staff amazing, the food in general was outstanding as were the cocktails. Would recommend both the hotel and Noble House to others. Noble House has a 'sister' bar- Alma da Cuba, in a converted church. Stunning and very, very good. Try it all!!

Got this on a Social Living Deal which included continental breakfast. Had such a great time doing the touristy things Liverpool has to offer. Only a couple of minutes walk from the docs and the Liverpool one shopping area. Was just expecting a coffee and croissant for breakfast but was offered a choice of several things- opted for juice, coffee, cereal choice and toast with brioche and croissant. It was lovely. Shower was spacious and powerful. Bed was comfy. Reception night porter lets you in if you come back after they have shut the door so it was great for some girly cocktails on the docks!
The only little niggle was that there was a lot of noise throughout the night, which stopped my mate from sleeping well. It was something to do with the pipes or air con system- we turned everything off but the noise was still there. We phoned reception who offered for us to move rooms but it was 1am ish so didn't bother. Despite this, I would recommend you visit this hotel. I really enjoyed myself.

Great location close to the dock area. The rooms are small and did not have some basic amenities such as sewing kit and shower caps. There was an additional charge for these items.
However, all of the staff are courteous and helpful. Especially Debbie who is part of the housekeeping staff. She went to great lengths to make us comfortable.
The restaurant, which is connected, has great food and made room service a pleasure. The woman who took the order over the phone and the wait staff who brought the food to our room were very personable and patient.
The only questionable item was the strange smell in the hallways but, I would stay here again.
