A perfectly adequate hotel right down in the city center looking out towards the Albert Docks.
Rooms are modern, compact and nicely decorated. Our bathroom was bright with a large spacious shower, however no bath tub, not sure if other rooms have them. One of our towels was rather dirty which was a bit surprising. However this was just left for housekeeping to pick up the next day.

The major issue this hotel has is the breakfast area, for a hotel of this size with so many rooms, the breakfast area is far too small. It can get rather chaotic at certain times in the morning and you may struggle to find yourself a seat......and there just isn't enough staff to help with the clearing up. Breakfast choices are great though!

Overall happy with my two night stay here as it is so close to all the attractions in a really wonderful city.

We stayed in this hotel Sunday to Tuesday, as a couple, on a shopping trip from our home in the Isle of Man. We got a better deal on the hotel price staying on these days, instead of a Friday/Saturday night. We have previously stayed in the Hilton in Liverpool 1, but decided to try the Hampton by Hilton this time as we got a great deal on the price.

We expected standards to be not so high as the Hilton, however, we were very pleasantly surprised!

Check in was smooth and the staff on reception were very efficient. We arrived around 1.35pm and were advised that check in time is officially 2pm, so our room was not quite ready. No problem to us - we had a drink in the hotel bar, which is literally next door to the reception and within 20 minutes, we were called back over to reception and our room was available.
We had not paid the extra for a 'river view' room, which we understand are on the upper floors of the hotel, however, our third floor room still gave us a view of the Albert Dock, Liver Building and Liverpool City Centre - fabulous!
The room itself was clean and modern with a sofa-bed which was nice to have to sit on to watch tv, have a cup of tea, read the paper, relax, etc. There was the usual hairdryer, flat screen tv, tea/coffee facilities, etc (which we thought might not be provided because of the price we paid), plus toiletries in the bathroom too - shampoo, conditioner, body wash, moisturiser, tissues. The bathroom was only a shower room (no bath), but was perfectly adequate - modern, clean, bright, plenty of towels.
The bed was very comfy - not quite a king-size, but a good double. There was a little noise during the night - the hotel is just off the main Dock Road, so there was some traffic noise, but nothing too bad.

We didn't eat in the hotel apart from breakfast, as there are so many lovely places to eat within easy walking distance (5 minutes to the Albert Dock or into Liverpool 1). Breakfast was included in the price and whilst not quite as extensive as the full Hilton Breakfast, it was still great! All self service - fruit juices, tea/coffee, cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, baked beans, hash browns, toast, croissants, muffins, marmalade, jam, marmite, chocolate spread - eat as much or as little as you like. There were plenty of staff around, clearing tables and restocking food and crockery non-stop.

Our room was serviced during the morning while we were out (shopping!) - towels replaced with fresh ones, tea/coffee restocked, etc and we had no issues at all.

All the staff we encountered were very efficient and friendly - even the ones still training were great - apologising if they kept us waiting or if they needed to ask a colleague for assistance. All our dealings with the staff left us with a very positive impression and proved that the Hampton by Hilton has standards just as high as any other Hilton hotel.

Overall, we had a great stay here and it was great value for money. The location is perfect for a short stay in the city centre and we will certainly be staying here again.

Room Tip: Only rooms on one side of the building have 'river views' but size-wise, they are all the sa...

We recently traveled to Liverpool and decided upon the Hampton by HIlton, City Centre because of a special offer they were promoting. The hotel is in an excellent location within a short walk to Albert Dock and a short taxi ride to Liverpool Lime Street Station.
Check-in was without incident, although another traveler checking in next to me was given more information about breakfast, the area and internet access than I. The lobby is spacious and includes bar service with a number of beers on tap.
Rooms were clean and spacious for an English hotel. Bathrooms were modern and towels were abundant and large.
Internet access was easy and reliable. There were adequate outlets in the room to charge all the requisite devices a traveler may need.
Breakfast was included and provided a variety of muffins, croissants, cereal, and hot entrees, including scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, tater tots and baked beans. The eggs were processed as would be expected in an express breakfast place.
We felt comfortable and relaxed during our stay.

As budget business hotels go I found the Hampton to a cut above the others. Beautifully appointed rooms, interesting view and friendly, well trained staff who seemed to genuinely enjoy the work. Sadly like so many business hotels (Ibis especially) the food in the evening leaves a little to be desired, fairly expensive and reliant on a microwave to prepare it. When it came to breakfast I worked on the basis that it was advertised as free so by going without I was losing nothing and avoiding the scrum with 300(?) other people for a seat, though I will say it did look better quality than dinner.
Liverpool itself was an awesome city which I truly fell in love with and would thoroughly recommend the Hampton by Hilton as a base for touring the city.

Excellent hotel very near Liverpool 1 and a short walk to the city centre. Overlooking Albert Dock area which is well worth a visit. The museums are free of charge and very informative. Staff at the Hampton were very helpful, especially the staff at breakfast time who were kept very busy, although at times reception staff seemed to be otherwise occupied and you felt that you were intruding on their time. The standard of room and housekeeping was to a very high standard. Good size bathroom with an amazing shower. We were allocated a room on the 4th floor with fantastic views. Bed very comfortable and also tea/coffee making facilities provided. Breakfast was great and plenty to choose from, although sometimes a little busy, but we only had to wait a short time for a table. If travelling from the airport the bus will drop you very close to the hotel and the bus stop for the return is only a few steps away. I will certainly use the Hampton again when I visit Liverpool and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Room Tip: Higher floors have great views.

I booked this hotel for a conference I was attending in Liverpool. I suppose, being unfamiliar witht the "Hampton by Hilton" brand, I was expecting a more usual Hilton. So I was rather taken aback by the reception area, which is more like a TravelLodge.

That said, it's a perfectly adequate hotel. It was comfortable and the bedroom was spacious. It is very close to the Conference Centre (less than 5 min walk). The staff were incredibly pleasant.

Despite the breakfast area having the transitory aspect of a Travel Lodge, the breakfast buffet was very nice, with a reasonable selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurt and cooked breakfast.

So, appearances are deceiving. It's a much nicer hotel than I would have thought at first glance.

Stayed in the hotel with family and friends for the Liverpool marathon. Hotel was lovely and clean. Location is excellent right on Albert docks. Hotel staff where very friendly and helpful. Didn't like the fact of charging extra to park your car but it seems to be the new thing in all hotels. Overall the hotel was excellent and enjoyed our stay. Would recommend to others.
