As a precursor to a concert at the Liverpool Philharmonic hall we called into Host, in Hope Street.
The food is described as a fusion of oriental flavours and it certainly is.
It takes Chinese dishes and adds in Thai or Singapore and others even Mediterranean, mixes them up and wow some stirring tunes arrive on your pallet. We have eaten there a few times and I can recommend the Deep Fried Ham Hock as a starter but this time I went for the Orange Hoi Sin Glazed Baby Back Ribs the meat just fell off in your mouth, superb. For the main course I tried the Smoked Chipotle Chilli Chicken Udon Noodles very tasty and needed a beer to cool down the buds but again full of flavour, excellent. The decor is quite modern with two areas one with long Ikea style benches and one a little more intimate and cosy, which they call the bar. The price is fairly reasonable £20 each for two courses and a bottle of beer each.
