When we found the place we were surprised by the size of room and how new everything was. Lovely bathroom as well. The couple who owns the place were very hardworking and very hospitable. During breakfast she even tried to help us get the right bus to Penny Lane saving as time asking someone else. Lovely continental breakfast!!!

Room Tip: room 8 - very very good!

stayed there last night and was amazed how nice it was for the money, always worried staying in cheap places - but this was great, very clean and tidy, comfy beds and friendly staff. one bad point - no car park had to leave car on street not in the nicest areas.. tax was only £4 into liverpool so a great location

On arrival we thought OMG what have we booked? Tiny streets in not good repair with locked iron gates to access the accomadation then a narrow staircase leading to a seemingly newly decorated hallway with bedrooms, small kitchen and shower room. We were allocated room 11 which was at the end of the corridor. Wow what a surprise! A large newly decorated room with a double and single bed, sofa, tea and coffee making facilities,DTV and nicely appointed bathroom. After lovely night out at The Cavern Club how nice it was to come back to the serenity of the Old Dairy!! Great value for money.

This was my 4th time staying in The Old Dairy in Liverpool. Fantastic up to date hostel which keeps on improving every visit I make. The room I stayed in was large and extremely comfortable with our own en-suite bathroom which was fantastic. Michelle and Dave are fantastic hosts and I would recommend the Old Dairy to anyone who is looking for a fantastic Hostel with all the comforts of home.

We found this room almost by accident, with the Labour Party conference having taken much available space in the City centre and led to a spectacular hike in prices for those places that did have availability.

The hosts are great, the room we had (double ensuite) was large, clean, well appointed and far more comfortable than we had expected, given the hotels claim to be a hostel.

The breakfast offered a good choice, and the bus service into town is cheap and very frequent. For anyone visiting kids at uni, as we were comes the added bonus that the hotel is right in the middle of the Smithdown Road student "ghetto".

We would recommend it to anyone visiting the city, maybe not for a special occasion, but certainly on business or as a base to visit the city.
