“You pay for what you get.”

We seriously considered re-booking and writing off the money we had paid after reading these reviews.

Yes the area is run down, yes the accomadation is basic, yes I didn't feel like leaving my car parked outside and yes it is a walk into town, but if you are paying £30-£40 for a hotel what are you expecting?

We had a night out in Liverpool and wanted somewhere to rest our heads and this exactly fitted the bill. Great cafe down stairs as well offering good food.

If you are a young family - steer well clear, if you are looking for a bed to sleep following a heavy night - this is your place!

Room Tip: Don't expect too much....

We booked this hotel a night before through trivago for £26 for the 3 off us, its more like a hostel and if im honest. I would have been happy if we had a bed, a roof and a blanket. Area was very dodgy, so I wouldn't like to leave my car there but you could. Collect your keys from o'tooles. Woman was rude but who cares, didn't see her again. Room was on the top and we were expecting the worst based on the reviews. We had 3 singles in a room, with a tv. Showers were ok, if I'm generous. But as a base for a night out, was very surprised and satisfied. Towels were £1 to hire

I stayed here for a weekend away with friends, and regretted that decision as soon as we arrived - even though we only spent about 5 hours in the dump (& that was long enough!).

There was no hot water, floors filthy, bedrooms had rubbish in them and everything seemed as it hadn't been cleaned in ages. Its situated in the docklands area of Liverpool, which is completely rundown and derelict and a very long walk into the city centre. And to top it all off, there was no tea & coffee making facilities for the morning hangover!

Avoid this place like the plague because I am never stopping there again!!

Room Tip: There are none!

We stayed here at the weekend (feb2nd13). A lads night out in L'pool.
It is in a dodgy part of town very derelict and not pleasant at all.
The accomodation is very basic - like a hostel.
When we stayed we had just been paintballing - and some of the guys needed a shower.

THERE WAS NO HOT WATER!!!
They solved it by taking who ever wanted a shower - to the sister b&b.

NOT GOOD - basic facilities are a MUST - sort this out as a matter of priority city B&B there is no excuse.
Also the bedding looked used - several hairs in the bed - slept with the clothes on.

On the plus side - the transport offered to get to the city was good. But there was no response for the lift back even though the guy told us to call him anytime.

It was relatively inexpensive - but we booked last minute and there are better places for the same price....its just that they were booked.

IF YOU ARE FEMALE please examine this place closely before you decide to book. I would not be happy seeing my daughter stay here.

Room Tip: check the bedding...

Where to start... No taxi driver in liverpool can find this place. its not a short taxi journey..it cost me £12 to get from moorfields to otooles bar.. When you arrive to check in here (different street to your actual b+b room) its a tiny sign stuck above a hovel.. You ring the bell and an easten european lady opens the door and speaks no english just grunts at you.. Otooles bar is not a bar..it looks like it could of been 20 years ago..the place was absolutely trashed. Chairs upside down, tables missing legs, walls falling apart. Had a very musty disused smell. So vile it hits you right in the back of the throat. So after this initial shock me and my friend grabbed our keys, jumped back in the taxi and drove 6 streets down to the b+b.

Apprehensive but stayed open minded..it couldnt be that bad, right? WRONG. The taxi driver even offered to wait outside as he was worried for our safety. The street is basically a disused dock full of old battered warehouses begging to be knocked down, next to no street lights,no people around, absolutely derelict.

The entrance to this place is a tiny 'city b&b' sign above a white door with a laminated hand drawn map stuck on the door! So before you walk in its like a prison.

Walk in and that horrible stink is back..pungent vile stench of unwashed filthy carpets.

Go up 4 flights of stairs to our room, Spindels missing off the bannister, stairs covered in bits off previous occupants..paint slapped on the walls in 2 different shades of cream (was probably white originally) the cleanliness of this place is the worse ive ever seen..i seriously doubt its ever had a hoover round the place.

The beds look like the had been slept in and they just pulled the covers back, the curtains had suspicious white stains all over them, a horrible dresser in the corner covered in marks an filthy stains, What appeared to be blood near the doorway as you walk in.

So we check the bathroom and again.. Mildew in the shower..toilet was filthy. Huge stack of toilet rolls just thrown on a window ledge. Id of been happier washing in a train station toilet.

So when you want to complain wheres the owner? Half a mile away. This building is unocupied at all times no staff what so ever and the only staff member doesnt speak good english.. No pay phones in emergencys..down a dingey, dark back alley facing industry. No shops within walking distance...everything around this area is abandoned.

So feeling so uncomfortable and scared for our safety we booked a different apartment.. This wasnt a cheap stop over it cost £100 to stay at city b&b. And another £100 to stay somewhere else and believe me id of payed anything to leave that hell hole.

If you stay here sleep with one eye open and make sure youve had your tetinus jab.

Vulcan Street is on the docklands the hotel is opposite a factory in a industrial site. You have to walk to a bar to collect your keys then walk back to your b&b.
I opened the front door and it smelt like Dirty Pets really bad the 1st floor didn't smell as bad.
In the evening to early morning 11pm till 2am next door from the hotel Loud banging live music when the event finished the people hanged outside the hotel talking very loud and abrupt.
I had to set up the TV myself! (Scart lead and plugging in)
Lumpy mattresses.
No buses go pass vulcan street! Your not near any busses I had to walk to Liverpool Moorfields
You live and learn!
And I learnt!
But it's warm, u hav hot water, free wifi and get freeview in ur room

this place is a joke oh yes its cheap. we had glass and bottle tops on the bedroom floor. The tv didnt work and the remote had one batterty but required two . There was no toilet roll in the shared facility. the web page has recently been updated we didnt know you had to walk to another hotel to get your keys there is a printed sheet on the outer door, when we finally found o' tools there was a notice on the window that said ring the bell, we did this but nothing happend, we knocked and waited finally a man came to the door with the door bell in his hand and said to us the bell dosent work, he was very unhelpfull but gavve us our towels in a carrier bag. we felt very unsafe in the placce as the outer door was left open at all times. there is only parking on the main road and it was extremly noisy. you have nowhere to put your clothes exept on the floor its says b and b but there is no placce to eat not even a table no staff on site so if there is a problem you cant even sort it out

Room Tip: look for a travell lodge
