“Pizza express management take note”
Reviewed October 28, 2013 via mobile

Having been a regular visitor over the past few years really feel that the place is slipping. You could normally guarantee a good meal but not any more. The only saving grace was the poor member of staff who was running around all night, waiting, cleaning, even helping the chef.
The food was not up to scratch and over priced all thing considered. It wouldn't cost much to have an extra member of staff to help out!!!
If it wasn't for your waiting on staff I'd have reviewed it even worse! Sort it out pizza express.

“Hidden Gem”
Reviewed October 17, 2013

Walk past and through the depressed masses waiting at the bus stops outside and cross the portals of this restaurant into one of Liverpool's many beautiful old buildings. If you are serious about food, then the best time to go is Monday or Tuesday when the restaurant is less busy. I'm a sucker for the Etna Romana this chain do and this is restaurant is where they consistently make it better than anywhere else. Also stunning is their house red (a cheeky Montepeluciano) and their homemade Tiramusu - so very 90's but still stunning when well made. Finish with a double expresso, pay the bill and leave with a smile on your face - not so broad mind you as to annoy the depressed bus stop people outside. I can't comment on other parts of the menu or indeed the standard at other times, but when I go its always the perfect antidote to a hard day at work.

“Overpriced drinks, poor service, average food”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

Stopped off here with 2 children ordered basic pizza and salads lunchtime on a Saturday. Restaurant is set in old bank building and is a spectacular room with very high ceilings. Regrettably, the service did not live up to the setting. The two waitresses were hardly what would be called attentive given that the place was less than half full and spent most of their time gossiping between themselves. They were also pretty miserable other then when were leaving when they finally decided to crack a smile, perhaps in the [vain] hope of getting a tip.

Price wise, £2.65 for a small bottle of pop is taking the mickey and the high basic pizza prices are not reflected by the quality of the food. Nor are the portions particularly generous. Would rather have gone down-market to pizza hut had there been one handy! Total for 2 adults and 2 kids meals came to over £65. Not good value.

We felt that service this poor did not deserve a tip and so didn't leave one.

“The Usual Good Standard”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

Rather a noisy venue because of the high ceiling - it was an old bank. Dealt well with the overcooked gluten free pizza. As usual - they aim to please and set a good standard.
