Description: At The Living Room our focus remains on sourcing the best quality ingredients, preparing them simply and delivering bags of flavour and texture on the plate. This is good, honest, robust and stylish food with its origins firmly in the European tradition with international touches. There is nothing frilly or fancy. A selection of Home Comforts - bangers and mash, fish and chips – are designed for easy eating yet there are also more elaborate dishes like Seared peppered tuna with salsa rosso or Roasted lamb cutlets with minted pesto vegetables. Small plates - such as cured ham with grissini and olives – allow for casual snacking while sandwiches and salads enable one-course, easy and casual dining. All-day opening is designed to facilitate easy access and reinforces a core ethos behind The Living Room; you, the customer, is the one empowered to make decisions and we want to make it as easy as possible for you to do that, enjoy it and be comfortable.

“What a stylish place ”

The Living Room is such a stylish classy place to eat and drink be it at the weekend or for a quiet one through the week. The staff are so attentive and personal that they really do go that extra mile to make your evening a special one. Head chef Nicky really does produce mouth watering dishes that you eat with your eyes before you even tuck in. Cannot find fault in this restaurant and bar at all. The waiter service is truely outstanding in particular Jordan whom really does take an interest in you during your visit. This place is the place we love to visit on a regular basis. Amazing staff, fantastic food and the place is stylish and classy !! You have to visit !!!

“Spot on restaurant *****”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2013

Myself and my wife have been eating at The Living Room pretty regularly over the past year and although we don't often review restaurants (especially not online, more to friends and family) we just could not get over how far this little restaurant has come in such a short time. We where also prompted to write a review after we noticed they had gotten a mention in the good food guide, well deserved.

Each visit has been better than the last. The service is quick and always with a smile, but the food is the real star. The dishes sound alarmingly simple, especially when ordering from the menu (not off the specials boards, but more about that later), where the descriptions are often only a hand full of words, but when they arrive you cant believe not only the taste, but the presentation. Certain dishes look straight out of a cook book

and seem to stick to the seasons pretty much all the time. It's great to see a restaurant not just recycle the same specials for years I Will usually try the specials and my wife sticks to the menu unless something really catches her eye. The service is quick (really quick) and the informal feel of the place helps to put you at ease even though some plates look like they are coming out of fine dining restaurants.

It's not perfect, the wine list needs work but the food is quickly getting up there with the Liverpool's (possibly northwests?) best.

Also just to say thanks to megan for the amazing food she provided on our last visit.

“Amazing chef Megan”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2013

I visited living room on Wednesday 6th November and although the whole venue was impeccable the stand out part of my night was the food.

It was so good I asked to speak to the chef who's name was Megan. I hope she's on next time I visit - I'll definitely be back again and again.

In today at lunch time when there were only about 5 tables flicked..changed times I remember when this place was rocking on a Saturday. Suffer I think from just being a little off piste now. Shame. Lovely lunch, get trio of desserts, expensive but scrummy. Service friendly.

“Sunday lunch deal”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2013 via mobile

An interesting venue with large bar area and small restaurant. We tried the Sunday lunch deal for four which worked out well with all fresh veg, crisp roasties and a small chicken to share. The bar has seen some heavy use and its beginning to show; although this is not likely to be noticed at night when busy, daylight reveals the need for a bar refit. Staff were very pleasant but unenthusiastic and lacked basic skills or organisation.
