“Great place!”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

I have visited this Italian twice now and both times it has been lovely :) during the day they have a deal of a selection of starters and mains for £6.99! Despite that making the choice sparse, there was so much on the menu i liked. First time i had the mozzarella sticks, which were lovely despite not liking balsamic vinegar, second time i had bruschetta. The bruschetta was nice but not the best as the oil hasn't soaked through the bread, but it was nice :) I had pizza both times and they were absolutely incredible, you can make your own out of a selection of toppings and you can tell the pizzas are fresh! They also offer Parmesan and black pepper which was lovely, as well as this you can request mayonnaise and ketchup! Overall a lovely restaurant. They should serve squid though, if i was going to suggest anything! The appearance of the place is also lovely, well lit and nice temperature! Only issue is if you sit outside you are attacked by wasps, but that's expected in a city centre i guess :-) staff are also nice and attentive :-)

“Good, but beware the wine list!”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

This restaurant is owned by the same company that operates Cafe Zoot. The food is good, with excellent sized portions and a decent selection.

Unfortunately the wine list is identical to its' sister restaurant. Minimal choice, maybe 2 or 3 Italian wines in total, and horribly over priced. So steer clear of the vino if you want to avoid spending more on the booze than the grub!

“Good food, attentive service”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

We decided to visit the restaurant on a whim as we were passing, what a good decision it turned out to be. The food was delicious and arrived with the minimum of waiting time - important when you have an impatient 4 year old!! My youngest chose the cheese and tomato pizza and proceeded to demolish it - no mean feat! My eldest chose the lasagne which was piping hot and he proclaimed that it was the best that he had tasted. My wife and I chose from the menu that offered a starter and main course for a fixed price. The food was delicious - I had the risotto balls and gnocchi bolognese and my wife the garlic mushrooms followed by carbonara. While you may think that by using the 'saver' menu the portion sizes would reflect this - nothing could be farther from the truth! The portions were generous and we were pleasantly full by the end of the meal. All in all a brilliant place to have a meal whatever the occasion.

“Exactly right for informal lunch or dinner”
Reviewed July 12, 2013 via mobile

We visited this place first for a later informal supper last fri night. Excellent friendly service, nice hot fresh food but very very run of the mill chain Italian style. Ul get same generic style of food in ask, prezzo, bella Italia zizzi etc. atmosphere was fun tho and very clean. House red was terrible and I left mine despite usually accepting house to be quaffable and not much more. This was just table wine!! Visited again for the 3.95 lunch which was excellent value. Again hot, fresh and tasty despite not being authentic at all. I do wonder if the chefs ever ask Italians what's in carbonara as nobody will ever say cream!! It's pasta, egg and pancetta. Still very reasonable for a quick lunch while out and about in town. We can't always dine at Michelin star places so these type restaurants have a good need and fit their purpose.
