“Nice ruin to see if you are passing by”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

Nice ruin to see. Only really visited as we had an English Heritage pass to give free entry - otherwise about 4-5 GBP to visit. Not really much left of the place and part of it was closed off for maintenance. Still quite a nice site.

“Interesting, but overpriced”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

Of the palace, little actually remains. It's still worth a look (particularly as it's only over the road from the cathedral itself), but as the entry charge is excessive, stay outside.

“Excellent short stop on the way to the Cathedral”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

It doesn't look like much at first, but it's an excellent hour visit. The audio guide is one of the best I've ever heard and the most impressive ruins are the old halls underground, which are not immediately noticeable from outside. I would highly recommend joining the English Heritage society and getting access to it and a million other places, or just paying the 4 quid if you don't have the time to go anywhere else.

“Bishops Palace”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

Although the palace is an interesting ruin we were unable to hear the audio guide properly due to the number of school children shouting. The ruins are interesting but beware this is not an attraction for anyone with any form of mobility problem.
