I travel to Lincoln at least once a year to visit family and friends and I normally book hotel accommodation. This is the second time I've chosen the self catering option and I can honestly say that church farm is the best place I have stayed.

The cottage is immaculate and beautifully decorated. It's very private despite being in the grounds of the owners beautiful home. The double doors looking out onto the garden flooded the cottage with light but without being overlooked by anything other than the roaming chickens.

The outside space is also lovely and well designed to catch the best of the sun. I ate lunch at the small table outside on a couple of days listening to the birds and clucking chickens. The hot tub just topped the whole experience off.

I was able to walk into north hykeham in 15 minutes where there's a number of good pubs, local shops and excellent transport links to Lincoln itself.

What I most appreciated was the thought that was put into making the stay comfortable - bread, milk and butter on arrival along with the delicious lemon drizzle cake mentioned in other reviews. The bag of ice cubes waiting in the freezer, the rotating fan provided for warmer days and night, the board games and jigsaws and the robes for the jacuzzi are all examples of the little touches that made the stay so perfect.

I travelled alone on this occasion but I'm planning a longer return trip with my husband. It's a real gem and if it's available on my future trips it will be my first choice. Highly recommend.

“Comfortable, peaceful and clean.”
Reviewed July 20, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Set in a country location amongst other properties and next to owners home.
About 20mins by car from Lincoln.
Accommodation is tasteful, comfortable and clean with view over garden, complete with friendly hens.
Hot tub on decking was warm and relaxing.
Kitchen small but adequate for 2 and stocked with useful starter pack of tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter etc and even a delicious lemon drizzle cake.

“Amazing cottage”
Reviewed May 29, 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Where do I start? This cottage is amazing, five star standards with everything you need.
Great welcome pack on arrival with tea, coffee, bread, milk and the best lemon drizzle cake!
The added bonus is the hot tub! Lovely after a busy day shopping in Lincoln that's about 20mins away.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet, away from it all location. Karen the owner gave us a list of local places to eat before we arrived.
Loved sitting on the patio, in the sun eating our breakfast and watching the chickens. Ticked every box for us and then some.
