Owner description: Three great attractions. One great day out. Medieval Wall Walk. Victorian Prison. Magna Carta. Enjoy spectacular views across Lincolnshire from our completed Medieval Wall Walk. Visit the David P.J. Ross Magna Carta Vault and see one of only four remaining original Magna Carta along side the Charter of the Forest. Immerse yourself in the lives of prisoners and their daily routines in the Victorian Prison and see the unique separate system chapel. 1000 years of history - where it happened.

Went today with my son, we had an enjoyable couple of hours. The price was reasonable cost £5 for both of us. We took the guided your which was really good and interesting, only downside was the renovations, which meant not all of the castle was accessible.
Overall though good value, and enjoyable if your into your history.

Thank Leone K

We visited the Castle on a cold slightly showery afternoon during the renovations to the prison. The archaeological dig had featured on BBC TV a few days before which added to the interest, particularly as a Saxon tomb had been found the morning of our visit.
Our Australian visitors were fascinated by the history of the Prison, the Magna Carta and Charter of the Forest and the brand new Heritage Skills Centre. On the walls we had great views over Lincoln and interesting talk with the masons doing renovations on the tour.
In fact, everywhere we went there were helpful and informative guides or staff who chatted to us and enhanced our visit enormously.
I would give the visit EXCELLENT, but I want to keep something in reserve for when the renovations are complete in a year or two.
Keep up the good work Lincoln Castle

Great price to look around castle, shame some of it was closed as being updated. Great helpful staff, willing to show you around. Lots of steps so if don't like walking then not for you. Good to see they are still using the courts now. Lots of green areas to have a picnic.

The castle is currently undergoing a MAJOR renovation and virtually none of it is open to the public.

During my visit today I was able to walk round 35% of the walls and look inside the chapel. THAT WAS IT!!

OK it was only £3 to get in but I'd rather they'd just closed it down, did the work quicker and got open again. Completion date is currently 2015. Would suggest avoiding until then.

Took my 11 year old to see a real castle, disappointed. The castle is under construction and you can only walk parts of the castle walls. You are able to tour the prison on the grounds but that is not real exciting. We were able to see the Magna Carta but that was the highlight to this experience. The grounds are just lovely and it would be a nice place to sit and eat lunch or let the children burn off some energy running and rolling on the hills within the grounds. Must pay to park, it was fun to shop around the area.
