“warm welcome, fab food”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

booked based on trip advisor ratings as never been to lincoln before, warm friendly owners and staff, great value as plates were much larger than chain tapas meals. wonderful to be able to sit outside and eat, enjoyed a lovely jug of sangria, not the usual very weak cheap red wine version offered elsewhere.definately visit aain, and lovely to chat to the owner about her life in spain!

“"Uphill Iberia"”
Reviewed March 29, 2014 via mobile

Having visted many tapas bars in Seville Jerez & Valencia this is comparable! The place is run and owned by a Canarian and staffed and frequented by Spaniards giving it genuine authenticity! We have been numerous times since it opened and love it!!!
With regard to some previous reviews. There is none of your ubiquitous generic chain tapas here! Tapas is a communal eating and drinking experience and if you desire privacy and space then I'd suggest waiting till the summer for the garden to become available or just embrace the hustle and bustle!! Finally go with the flow there is no rush to be served an unfortunate trait amongst many UK diners, Mañana as they say!

“Fantastic tapas, friendly service”
Reviewed March 27, 2014

Managed to sneak in after they had a couple of cancellations on a Saturday night and had a fantastic meal here - tapas portions quite generous compared to some meaner more "ramekin" size versions - had 4 between 2 + a basket of bread and that was more than enough - really tasty and great selection of fish / veggie / meat and interesting specials. Tried to fit in a pudding which we managed just about and were lovely. Great friendly Spanish-speaking staff and obviously very popular place with regulars and tourists alike. Spent 3 days in Lincoln and one of best meals we had there - a great independent local place obviously run on passion and devotion to making some great authentic food. Gracias!

“Top Table Tapas”
Reviewed March 23, 2014

We decided to visit Ole Ole on the strength of TA reviews and thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service and the ambience. The welcome was typically Spanish, warm and friendly, and the immediate impression is of an authentic Spanish tapas bar. Perhaps that's easier when everyone cooking and serving is Spanish! Many restaurateurs could benefit from observing Ole Ole - how to welcome, greet and seat customers - but for that to happen (bronze) pigs would have to fly. As we relaxed with a glass of sangria, we chose our dishes - mixed breads with ali-oli, fried squid, paella with chicken and seafood, potato cubes from the specials, and the highlight of the evening, braised ox cheeks in a rich red wine gravy. Service was quick, easy and polite, and the smalltalk genuine. The cost - 31 pounds including drinks and excluding tip - is remarkable value-for-money. All-in-all, food, service, ambience and cost couldn't be faulted. Reservations essential.
