We pre-booked a luchtime visit here for a birthday treat for my Mum, as we had been here once before for fathers day & were all keen to visit again.

The menu had changed since the last visit, but our expectations were still met & then surpassed. Cutting to the chase, the food was plentiful, perfectly presented & the choice available was just so. The waitress was polite, patient (with my Dad), & she couldn't have done anything better to improve the service.

The icing on the cake (literally) was that when we had all finished our starters, mains, & then the desserts ... the kitchen sent out a glorious chocolate & strawberry birthday cake for my mother. It was a total surprise to us all, & a brilliant sign of an establishment that is prepared to bend over backwards to make any visit a memorable one.

Needless to say we left with a doggy bag.

Thank you Charlotte, & to all of your staff.
Perfect once again.

We called to book a table quite late and were told that the restaurant was full but if we didn't mind sitting in the bar area they could fit us in,
We arrived and the bar area was fairly quiet and we were given a friendly welcome, seated and served drinks promptly.
After taking our order we were served with a warm bread basket while waiting for the starters. We both had the broccoli and Stilton soup which was very tasty.
The main courses arrived and the Fish medley was perfectly cooked and my wife's brocolli and Dambuster cheddar pie was to die for.
I can't understand the complaints of small portions in some of the reviews as the only problem we had was that we were so full from the starter and main that we had to give the tasty looking deserts a miss.
The staff were very friendly and we ended up chatting with the owners at the bar after we'd eaten, we'd definitely come back here again.

My husband and I visited here after a disappointing attempt to go for a meal at the Inn on the Green in Ingham.
On arrival we thought we would suffer a similar fate at The Farmers as it was packed full of people, however despite this we were informed that providing we were willing to sit in the bar area rather than the restaurant, they would be able to accommodate us. We were served with drinks and when menus were available they quickly bought these over. After making our choices we expected a long wait, however the starter arrived within a very reasonable amount of time considering the number of diners, and we experienced a similar experience with the rest of the meal. The atmosphere was good, the food was tasty, and I've recommend to others due to how accommodating and friendly the staff were.

Over the years we have visited this establishment in many of it's guises. The latest, The Farmers, seems to have got of to a slow start.
Our group of six visited for Sunday lunch and enjoyed a good meal.
I enjoyed my locally smoked salmon (would have been interested to know where it was smoked), the honey roast gammon and the Eton Mess style pudding. Coffee was good. Good vegetables and very light yorkshire puddings.
Some of the party would have preferred to have had the option of a traditional roast meal - the only beef was an eight hour slow cooked version.
We were surprised that the restaurant was only half full and thought it deserved to have had more tables occupied - it would have improved the atmosphere - the friends who booked said that it has been full in the week when they visited.
Sunday lunch for 6 for starter, main course, four puddings, coffee and a small round of drinks cost £21/head which seemed a good price.
