Perfectly situated. The Castle is just at the end of the road, with the walls visible from the front door of the house. All the old town attractions are nearby, as are restaurants, cafes and pubs.
The house itself is small but comfortable, with a light, airy and spacious kitchen area, giving easy access to the cosy patio. Big bathroom, nice shower.
On-site parking was very useful. Good communication with the owner, who was friendly and helpful.
Given a late checkout time which was really helpful
Gorgeous house great location plenty of amenities
This house is fabulously located: an easy walk from Lincoln's Cathedral Quarter, from historic buildings, pubs, restaurants and independent shops. A handy supermarket is nearby on Burton Road. We'd no need for a car around Lincoln: we used the secure off-road parking and explored the city on foot. However, our drives out to Louth and Newark Air Museum were both worth it!
The house itself has '3C' quality: it is beautifully clean, it is extremely characterful and it is very comfortable. The private, sunny back garden is great for relaxing. Yes, there's some road noise at the front of the house and, yes, the house is near a couple of business premises; but these factors simply added to the 'buzz' of being in the midst of city life; and a beautiful city at that!
Lastly, Tessa (the owner) is very supportive throughout the booking/holiday process. Although we'd no problems, we always knew she was at the end of the phone for us. So glad we found this holiday house!
The house is immaculate, superbly equipped and in a brilliant central location. The beautiful garden and the off road parking are two huge bonuses.
Communication with the friendly owner is excellent.
We had a wonderful week and would thoroughly recommend 24 Burton Road. It is more a home from home than a holiday rental.
Really well located cottage just a couple of minutes walk from the West Gate of Lincoln Castle. Tessa, the owner, has thought of everything from toys for the children and a cork screw for the adults! Parking a real bonus meaning after a long drive you can safely leave the car and explore the city on foot. Lovely enclosed garden if the weather is fine.
The cottage is on a quiet street just outside the city centre, a few hundred metres from the city wall.
The place itself was clean and tidy, a good-sized front room for relaxing, large bathroom and a garden that was great for the early Spring sunshine.
We'd definitely book again.
We spent a lovely few days in this pet friendly holiday cottage in lincoln it is in a brilliant place for site seeing just a short walk to the castle and cathedral and shops we will stay again when visiting the area
