“Don't miss this pub”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2012

First found The Generous Briton about three years ago having spent a holiday in Norfolk and heading home. Just saw the sign by the side of the road and found this superb pub and had a good meal then. Visited again whilst we were staying nearby in Lincolnshire. Again another superb meal.

“Excellent Food.”

Stopped off at this Pub in Brant Broughton on my way back from a meeting. 4 of us had a really good meal in very nice surroundings.
We will be back.

“Consistently good food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2012

Went back to this village pub near Sleaford for Sunday lunch yesterday and it was again very good.
We had a full three courses and the starters were both tasty and generous. Our salmon and asparagus quiche for main course had the best pastry I've tasted in a restaurant, and we both enjoyed our sweets - rhubarb crumble and chocolate fudge cake.
Delicious all round and a bargain at £15 a head for three courses. An excellent (although pricey at £4.50 for 175ml) glass of NZ sauvignon wine washed it down.
Congratulations to the chef and team once again.
We also had an evening meal with a friend a few weeks ago and that was also excellent food and good value

“Home made Sunday lunch without making it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2012

Friends had told us this was a good pub to have a meal and invited us to join them for Sunday dinner there, I was a little apprehensive as Sunday dinners in a pub tend to be quite bland and over cooked, but I'm delighted to say that even my husband, (who is particular about his food) said that the meal was as near to home made as any we'd had, anywhere.
The service was exceptional with pleasant staff and the surroundings were very clean and comfortable, not least because it was a cold wet day and the open log fire gave it an a very warm and welcoming feeling. I would highly recomend this place to everyone who like good quality home cooked food.

“Excellent Sunday lunches”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2011

We have had a Sunday lunch with our in-laws at the Generous Briton every three or four weeks or so over the past few months, and all of them have been either very good or excellent. The service is great and the wines very good. But the main thing is the food. As well as a traditional roast - usually a choice of two or three meats, there are also other and varying main dishes. The choice of half a dozen or so starters is good and they are also very interesting and tasty. The desserts are good old traditional favourites. Certainly a place to recommend for Sunday lunch and the one evening meal we had was also very good.
