The Old Rectory

The Old rectory is a throwback from days gone by. The building is probably Victorian , the bedrooms, no two alike range from Doubles/singles and twins with on suite to the same with shared facilities. There is a comfortable dining room but no bar.
The owners and staff are very obliging and friendly, and there is adequate parking. The proximity to Lincoln Cathedral/Castle and shops is a major asset. There are plenty of pubs and eating houses nearby to suit all tastes. This is not the place if you want a plush hotel, or a standard mega group establishment, but if you are looking for a good, honest ,clean B&B with a warm welcome this is a good choice.

OK - Carpets, Curtains, Shower, Paintwork, Furniture - the whole place needs steam cleaning and the bedspread belongs in a film about WW1
But...£55 for a family room, great breakfast, friendly host, free parking and LITERALLY a stone's throw from the centre (yet nice and quiet) - you can't complain !

Room Tip: No 6 has creaky floorboards and bed so...nothing "romantic" :(

We stayed one night here and were very happy! The house has real character and charm with plenty of information and very friendly hosts. Our room was massive! The breakfast was lovely. It is in the best location you can ask for for seeing this wonderful town. Comfy beds with TV, wifi, tea and coffee.

All in all I feel this was excellent value for the price, I would highly recommend! Wish I had asked more about the canal boat.

(On a side note - I simply cannot believe some of the stuff people have written on here, it's disgraceful. I have never used this website before and hadn't realised that people could be so rude and heartless when reviewing somebody's business. This was an ideal place to stay, top value, spacious, friendly. Simple as that.)

Stayed on several occasions and find it great, If you want plastic all the same and being treated like a number, don't stay here, but if you want a welcoming smile from the eyes and mouth, a breakfast cooked for you, a house full of character (with an owner to boot!), and really friendly staff, pick this one. Location superb, in walking distance of Cathedral, Castle, Museum, Art Gallery, etc, restaurants, pubs, free parking, Wifi, all at very good prices.

Oh, and the rooms are full of character, clean and comfortable.

Superb value all round.

Walking distance to great bars and restaurants, excellent breakfast and a friendly welcome. we have stayed here 3 times and each time I have slept like a log. Not a sterile chain of accommodation that could be anywhere but a place full of character and interest. see you soon!

Lincoln is one of my favourite cities and we always prefer to stay near the historic centre. The Old Rectory fits the bill beautifully and definitely looks the part too.
As ever, we got a warm welcome and was well looked after in all respects.

Room Tip: I love the view of the iconic BBC building over the road opposite but it can be quieter at the back...
