“Very good in its class as a mid-range hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

Delivers what you would expect from a modern Holiday Inn Express, smart contempary design especially in the bedrooms, where lighting is also used to good effect. Rooms are also more spacious than usual for this type of hotel, plenty of work space and plenty of sockets to charge all our gadgets. Cannot fault cleanliness at all in rooms or commons areas, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel does offer hot food in the evening but the menu is a little limited, however the Waterfront Marina is only a 5 minute walk away and offers plenty of restaurants and bars. The free hot breakfast is the standard HIE fare but possibly done slightly better than I have seen in some other locations.

Two complaints, firstly the towels provided were of poor quality and had seen better days, secondly the process of obtaining a wifi password via the TV menu did not seem to be functioning.

I would have no hesitation to use this hotel again.

Room Tip: Check when arriving for a room facing the Cathederal, the opposite side just looks across Topps Tile...

We stayed for 1 night, the room was nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, plenty of variety. A short walk to the shops and bars. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay in Lincoln.

Staff friendly and convenient City Centre location. Parking was good value at £5.00 for 24 hours. This is a very clean hotel. 5 minute walk to the Waterfront area with lots of restaurants and close to the Odeon Cinema. A further 5 minute walk and you are in the Town centre. Breakfast wasn't great but the coffee was good.

Room Tip: You can get access to the the free Welcome to Lincoln wifi from the east facing rooms on the 4th fl...

We stayed here one night and the location was great. Ideal for visiting the uni. Parking £5 for 24 hours very useful and safe. We asked for a top floor room and the traffic noise was minimal, Great views of cathedral from the landing. The room was very comfortable, but had a connecting door to next room so was perhaps a bit noisier than stand-alone room. We got to breakfast early and it was easy to get what we wanted and plenty of room to sit and relax as we ate. Would happily stay here again.

Room Tip: For quieter room, ask for top floor overlooking car park rather than main road; and the opposite end...

stayed here because its new and we had already tried the other holiday inn in lincoln, rooms are good and so were the staff, but the food was not so good and the set-up for the self service breakfast to say its new is the worst ive come across. if your going to lincoln and your going to stop in an holiday inn just make sure you use the other one (which is only a two minute walk from this one) its by far the better of the two.:)

The staff were friendly at reception. The room was clean, standard size for this type of hotel. The breakfast was mass produced, as such was an ok standard. Good to walk into main town- once you've crossed the roads!! (Quite busy). However was a bit difficult to get into the car park, went onto the trading estate by mistake! And parking does cost!!
The hotel would be suitable for people with mobility issues, as there are lifts and the ground floor is relatively flat. However would have to ask for a room if you are a wheelchair user, as the standard rooms are 'tight' for space and the bathrooms are too compact to manovere a wheelchair in.
Over all, absolutely fine for a weekend stay.

Room Tip: It's on some main roads, so the higher up you are, the less noise!

The location of the hotel is close to all the local amenities so its ideally situated for touring Lincoln city centre. Rooms were clean, spacious and with all the things you would expect in a modern hotel. Wifi was advertised in the brochure but this didn't cover the rooms only the lobby area, which was disappointing. On day two we had to return to the lobby because our room key didn't work and was told it had only been programmed for one day. We enquired if the hotel had a microwave to heat up my wife's special breakfast food, but after an inquisition by the lady on the desk asking if it was for medical reasons, which annoyed and embarrassed my wife, we were told they didn't have one! Breakfast was ok albeit it was very busy on the Sunday we were there and one of the staff was noticeably stressed by people leaving their trays on the floor when the tray racks were full. Overall the hotel was ok but the customer service needed some attention on the days we stayed.

Thank you for your review, I'm sorry you felt let down by the service you received, our free Wi-Fi is only currently available in the public areas as you mentioned with guest rooms having a secure wired solution we are looking to change this in 2013 with the increase in devices having wireless capabilities.
I'm sorry your room key was incorrectly programmed during your stay I will certainly address this as a matter of urgency and also look into your request regarding your wife’s food as we would normally have no problems meeting this request
