Hotel itself is lovely with great location. Room was ok, no A/C nor fan though. No garnishes for gin in the bar aside from your bog standard lemon or lime (orange, blueberries or raspberries would have been nice). Garden area at the rear of the hotel lovely. Breakfast was great.

Unfriendly host, very insincere (where the smile is forced and doesn't reach the eyes)....

We stayed here on a stopover as we headed North and it was fine. Some peculiarities like the receptionist asking us to leave our room key behind when we went out so they knew who was in - something you’d expect in an old fashioned boarding house! But otherwise the room was clean and breakfast was nice. The hotel is walking distance to the castle and cathedral and also an excellent Indian restaurant. I wouldn’t recommend asking for a late checkout or to keep hold of the parking permit for a few hours on the day of departure unless you are wanting to experience the frost of the Tower Hotels landlady ;)

Didn’t stay in hotel but used the restaurant for dinner and the bar afterwards.
Lively bar and good ambience. Ate in the Thirty8 restaurant (separate review).
Hotel and bar staff are excellent and the service is impeccable. Good seating area outside at back of hotel.
Recommended for evening out.

What a delight iv been here numerous times for lunch with my little one and have always loved it !
So nice to now know that I can come and have breakfast after dropping the kids off at school !
I had the avocado on sourdough with poached eggs and a earl grey tea
It’s was fresh and totally yummy set me up for the whole day
The menu was great so nice to finally have a place to go for a freshly cooked breakfast that isn’t a cafe or a pub
Thank you tower hotel I’ll be back !

The staff were so helpful and welcoming when we arrived. We were able to park outside the hotel using a permit and our room was ready when we arrived even though we were early. The room itself (superior double) was spaceous and clean with plenty of storage space and view of the castle walls. Even though the bar downstairs was very busy and noisy due to the cup final being played, our room was lovely and quiet with just a little noise from the street but this settled down later in the evening.
The hotel is less than 5 minutes walk to the castle and the old town centre so ideally located for sight seeing or eating out. However we had our meal at the resturant in the hotel No.Thirty8 and it was excellent, the inclusive breakfast was also very good with a wide chioce of items. I would certainly stay here again.
