“Wedding venue”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2014

Couldn't fault the hotel as a wedding venue. However, although the rooms were spacious clean and comfortable we had an issue with the cold water in the bathroom which at best was lukewarm and at worst almost hot. It wasn't just our room either, the 3 booked by our party were the same. Also the amenities supposed to include bathrobes and slippers and in our room there was only 1 bathrobe and no slippers, which I could have done with as I kept going around the hotel in barefoot in the morning making sure everything was in place for my daughter's wedding. By the time I got ready I had filthy feet (hence the black flannel, sorry!) It was also a bit noisy at night, but only to be expected in town on a Saturday. Would definitely recommend as a wedding venue though.

Room Tip: Perhaps try the back of the hotel.

We stayed over at this hotel in May. The room was spacious, modern and immaculate. The staff were all so friendly and the customer service was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel. Great central location x

This is a lovely hotel, rooms are spacious food was great and the staff were excellent. I was there on business and their facilities were great, meeting room was on the top floor with great views over the city. The downside was there is a vast building project going on outside which they did not mention when we booked. There is no hotel parking and no facility to drop your bags at the door either because of the city centre location. However there is an NCP just over the road on the square, which the hotel can reduce your rate on if you get your ticket validated, but disabled travellers this may not be ideal for you. I would recommend this as a meeting location for business. My room was at the front, which has a taxi office directly below, which caused a bit of noise late at night with people congregating there.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back if you want a peaceful nights sleep. If you are disabled check with them...

Having been to many restaurants in the midlands, it is refreshing to find one which is so unique in both the food it offers and the decor.

The place is near Highcross carparks, which is quite good - but you do have to walk around 5 mins to get there. It's not too bad though! This may have changed as there was substantial road works occurring (where I think they closed the car park which was right outside the restaurant...). Anyway, parking is relatively cheap (£4-£5 for a few hours).

The restaurant is split into two sections, the bar and eating area. There are really nice private booths in the eating area which really make this place unique. The seating is really comfortable and you can spend hours here without really noticing the time!

The food is really well presented and flavoursome. Overall, it was quite surprising to find food of this quality in Leicester - having lived there for 3 years I didn't really come across anything of this standard!

The drinks are also quite good with an extensive selection behind the bar.

Food was quick to arrive - the many appetisers and the variety of food was great.

Overall, I'd definitely go back to this place, it was a real surprise overall - and although the price might seem a little high, it is worth it as it makes for a great night out!

By the way - we did not stay in the hotel, we only ate at the restaurant.

Stayed just the one night on business. Very much a boutique hotel, great value, good rooms and a great restaurant. Would definitely stay again, parking close by and free wifi very useful. Didn't have time for breakfast but I'm sure it would have been to the same standard.
