Went to Maiyango as a one off treat for me and my Fiancé, and was blown away by the whole experience.

From the moment we walked through the door to the moment that we left there was not a single problem, or issue.

The room was clean, spacious and just stunning, the bed was gigantic and more importantly very comfortable.

Then the restaurant, well, out of this world, the cocktails and the food are a must try for anyone visiting Leicester, will be staying again for sure.

We stayed at Hotel Maiyango when going to a nearby awards ceremony and WOW- what a stay! We like to stay in independent boutique hotels and sought Maiyango out on this basis, and it has to be the best hotel we have stayed at. Stunning, modern decor, a HUGE comfy bed, attentive, really friendly staff and a great late bar that was perfect for a night cap after our evening out. Great location for nearby restaurants, but also amazing cocktails are served in the restaurant that is part of the hotel! Fantastic hotel, we can't wait for an excuse to come back!

The service was attentive, the staff were very right on always doing whatever it took to help. There was sometimes a lack of forethought , but that was always followed by a willingness and a freindly spirit.
The design of the rooms -we loved the minimalism, and the space. Lack of frilly curtains- fantastic. One of the few hotels with mod cons where you can turn off the blue light on the tv that looks you in the eye all through the night-top marks for that.
There were some things out of the hotels control.. the talking pedestrian crossing at 7am in the morning and the sounds from the restaurant below. The rain shower is lovely , but it ran out of hot water.
The area is noisy but the upside its good for the lanes and restaurants.

Room Tip: 15. big bed, big bathroom, not too exposed to the street, spacious and comfortable

Hotel Maiyango was the location for my sisters hen party at the end of June.
The hotel organised our whole day, from the treatments at Femi beauty (just around the corner) to the cocktail making class, evening meal and accommodation (all at Maiyango)

The whole day could not have gone better.

The cocktail class was such a lot of fun and in a perfect setting of the restaurant with its beautiful decor and comfortable sofas to chill out on between cocktail rounds!
The evening meal was outstanding!! Truly out of this world. Days later we are still talking about it. The food came out to all 25 of us at the same time and the quality of presentation was never compromised. The waiting/bar staff were polite and attentive, and took the time to thank us and wave us off on our night out!-The hotel is fantastically located to go out afterwards and enjoy the Leicester nightlife.
We did stay at the hotel also, the rooms are beautifully decorated, large and very clean. We shared rooms, even though they only have king size beds. The beds are huge though so this really isn't an issue!

I would also like to mention Femi beauty where our treatments were held. Nothing again was too much trouble, Femi and her team of lovely ladies could not have been more welcoming, we were made to feel very special-a lovely start to our day.
Chris at Maiyango deserves a special mention, he was my go to person throughout and was incredible at helping to take the stress out of the organising, I believe the day running so well is a credit to him.
At no point of the day were we ever made to feel like anything was too much trouble by anyone, everyone was so professional but still with the right amount of humour bearing in mind it was a hen do after all!

If you want a great hen location, a venue for a celebration or just the chance to experience fantastic cuisine, look no further!

NOT somewhere to go for a special occasion where you want to be treated with the attention you deserve when paying such high rates. It was obvious to us the staff were over worked and clearly couldn't cope with the few customers they had. Everything about the service and the atmosphere screams cutting corners to save/make money, the tables are so close together, to SQUEEZE as many people in as possible into such a SMALL SPACE, i felt like i knew the couple next to us intimately when we left. No care or attention to their customers. It probably wouldn't have been half as bad if they have paid to have enough staff working! But CLEARLY MONEY is ALL that matters here. clearly rely on a high turnover of people as they certainly cant reply on people ever coming back.

Room Tip: All rooms are noisy as they all on look onto the street with a nightclub underneath!! There is dust...

Room 8 is a large modern room, with unusual local art. A large walk in shower with all requirements. The Room faced St Nicholas Circle and the Guildhall, noise not a problem and the views were very interesting from above making another angle to the city.
The restaurant was buzzing warm and relaxed with an Asian/Moroccan style and three curtained alcoves.
The Cocktails were delicious and the staff very attentive and polite.
The food was quite the best we have had anywhere, every attention to detail was apparent.
We were still too full in the morning to take breakfast.
