The Rutland Curry Club first visited Tiffin back in 2009, our members were so impressed at the time that it came very close to winning our Curry House of the Year (CHOTY) award.
However on return we were very disappointed, the food was average at best, quite a few of us had the King Prawn Tawas one of the restaurant's signature dishes, however the prawns were very bland and not particularly enjoyable.
When you take a group of 10 to a restaurant you expect the place to make a bit of effort to make you feel at home, unfortunately there was none of that, very cold service, we weren't even greeted out of the restaurant, despite spending almost £500.
The food is vastly overpriced, £50 a head would be easier to take if you'd just had an amazing meal, but not when you get something you could have picked up from anywhere. The 10% service charge that they automatically added is very cheeky. As a club we always believe in tipping if it's deserved. A lot of people would probably not have noticed and would tip on top of that.
Overall, no chance of winning the BOB CHOTY award and I wouldn't go back or recommend this to anyone.
