“Excellent authentic vegetarian punjabi food.”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

We have been here many times, the last time was approx 2 years. It's been decorated since then, giving the place a cleaner and fresher look.
Even though we had ordered the food over the phone, we still had wait about 10 mins.
But it was definitely worth the wait, the curries were freshly cooked and the rotis were soft with the right amount of butter on them.
Defo recommend the masala tea with some barfi.
The best bit..........the bill was very cheap, £20 for 2 adult and 2 kids, starter, main, drinks and then tea& desert.
We enjoyed it so much, we returned the following day for lunch!!!!

“Would go again”
Reviewed April 8, 2013 via mobile

Vegetarian, no alcohol. Tasty food, prompt, correct service. Family decor. We, as usual, ordered too much - but it was all good. Value priced.

“Good food”
Reviewed January 19, 2013 via mobile

Decent punjabi vegetarian food at good price. The service is a bit of a let down as it is hard to communicate in english. However, great value for the standard of food.

“Tasty Home Style Indian Veggie Cooking”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

I've been to the Sardaar several times now and always enjoyed the food. I'm a confirmed meat eater and wouldn't normally go near a veggie restaurant but the food here is excellent.
This place is done out as a sort of Indian Transport cafe I guess but the food makes up for the decor.
My wife and I visited recently and had two plates of Allo tikki and samosas for starters followed by stuffed paratha , Tarka Daal , puris , washed down with a couple of shakes and followed by some lovely gujarilar with ice cream . We were both full and the bill ??? A whopping £10.25 !! Come on where else can you do that !! The owner is pleasant and friendly and came over a couple of times to see if we liked the food . All good and will definitely be returning !
