We travelled all the way from Manchester!
And this restaurant caught our eye and came with fabulous recommendations. It is a must visit whether you are local or outsiders. I envy those of you who ARE locals though, as you lucky people are able to dine there on a regular basis. This restaurant deserves every single star and if there where anymore I would award those as well. Congratulations to the owner and staff on a job well done. Keep it up and we hope to be visiting Leicester in the near future. So we will be dining with you soon.

Thank Lal M

First impressions of this restaurant were that it seemed very spacious and the seats comfortable - always a good start. The staff were friendly and attentive and although we'd arrived at opening time they were ready to go. Our family has people with a range of tastes, from the bland to the super spicy, and the range on offer was able to cater for all of us.

The Chicken Makhani gets a special mention - it was divine, but the range of foods on offer was all cooked to a high standard and the cleanliness of the restaurant was highly impressive. This being a Sunday lunch, there was a little less choice than is usually on offer, but even so there were half a dozen starters, eight mains (and pizza), and a decent range of sweets, even if the Kheer wasn't available.

A definite return trip in the not too distant future, I think.

By taking a winning formula from their sister restaurant The Cuisine Of India, The Chef and Spice have recruited the best staff to give the best service making the best buffet style restaurant in Leicestershire. Well done.

Went early - before 7pm it was only £9.95 per head. Great food - good range of excellent Indian food with nice vegetarian options. Staff very helpful and friendly without being overbearing, would definitely go again.

i went with a work party of 30. the bar area isnt huge , but we were served quickly and efficiently.
My review would be different if the place was a conventional restaurant. there is not a huge range of mains but what is there was hot, spicy and very good. i actually thought the starters were excellent a good range and some unusual dishes. everyone raved about the desserts but they didnt move my world. dont be put off by the mixed reviews. everyone in the restaurant looked to be enjoying themselves you dont go to a buffet for top notch service, it was perfect for a bunch of work chums. it is housed in a converted 70's pub and has had a lot of money spent on it, if you want a lively busy place you will not be disappointed.
