“Small noisy rooms of questionable cleanliness”
Reviewed February 2, 2010

Nearly half the rooms face major roads and the bottom of a flyover. With inadequate sound proofing (double glazed window) there's a good chance you'll be stuck in a tiny, noisy room. Mine had creaky floorboards, stained carpets (including holes for when it assumably was able to be smoked in), hairs in the bath, and main doors that were hard to open and close (so you got used to slamming noises at all hours). Staff were rude on check-out over monies they thought I still owed, and you had little control over the heating that varied from toasty to bearable. Don't stay here!

Hotel is in the city centre and short walk to shopping centre and bars. Hotel itself is modern and bright, spotlessly clean and staff were awesome. Everyone that works there couldn't do enough to help and nothing was too much for them.

The negative reviews I have read on here do not reflect this hotel at all and of all the budget hotels Inhave used (and there have been many!), this was by far the best!

We needed an overnight stay to deliver family Christmas presents and saw the £1 room sale advertised. I never expected to be able to access the website but did so quickly and secured a room for just £1. Having looked at the reviews we were a bit unsure but at this price we had nothing to lose. We were very surprised at how modern this place is. We have stayed at Campanile hotels in France many times and they are often run down. Our room was warm and cosy and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom and towels were also very good. We were offered a meal in the restaurant but opted to eat out in the city instead. It takes only a few minutes to walk to some lovely restaurants. Next morning we decided to stay for breakfast which I would not do again as it was mediocre to say the least. The all you can eat buffet had very little choice to eat and the cooked breakfast was grim. Nevertheless we would stay again even at the usual room rate as it is so close to some great shopping and restaurants.

stayed here for 2 nights on a shopping trip to leicester. better quality than any travelodge i have stayed in, nice reception, bar and restaurant. breakfast was superb for the money(£7.95 all you can eat). staff were friendly and helpful, extra pillows were brought up to room on request no fuss. room was spotless. 2 slight faults were dodgy mattress and room was next to main road which was noisy. but overall it was a brilliant stay.

Arrived to find hair-clips, scraps of paper and crumbs of food littering the carpet of my room. There was no towels in the bathroom and having asked twice for some, they never materialised.

The chairs in the bar are soiled and so old they are worn through to the foam cushions.
