I'm not a massive rugby fan but never turn away the opportunity to go when invited by friends. Always a good friendly atmosphere come rain or shine. A good place to bring the kids too they always enjoy the experience and of Corse the hotdogs.

We had a great time watching the Tigers on a wet, cold december day, which saw them beat Gloucester. We booked late and got tickets in the open stand, but despite the rain, the atmosphere was brilliant! We took our daughters and they have now become keen rugby supporters. The prices are good and the bar is affordable, with good value places around the area to eat.

First visit to Welford road to watch the Tigers get beaten by the Sarries (just).

Firstly there were not a lot of seats left and the new Caterpillar stand was packed. I was left with some seating in the older Holland and Barratt stand. BE CAREFUL BOOKING ONLINE. The seating online is counter intuitive. When you click on the seating plan you see the position in relation to the pitch. The H &B stand is at the top of the screen. Click on the stand you want to sit in and the pitch is always at the top. The H&B seating is therefore reversed - bottom of screen is NOT nearest the pitch.

After the disappointment of sitting right at the back (you loose the view of high kicks) it got better. This is an old stand and there are wooden benches rather than plastic chairs. It's also quite packed in. However this was really nice on a cold snowy evening with the seating being warm. Being right at the back also kept us out of the wind and it was noticeably colder when people left at half time.

The atmosphere was great despite us seeing only 13 Sarrie fans in the stadium of 25,000.Rugby fans are the best - even Tigers.

We been twice on hospitality and can say for afficionado's of the oval ball game it was a superb afternoon.
Arrive early, enjoy the dinner and talk, watch the game then its back in the lounge and players and ex-players will mingle and have time to talk.
We're from leicester so we would appreciate it wouldn't we, but i'd defy anyone who loves rugby not to have an enjoyable day.
Reasonably priced in my opinion and a good treat as a present or special occasion.
