Was staying here to attend a wedding. Was a bit apprehensive about the so called non-refurbished rooms we were getting... but I have to say, if u haven't seen the newer refurbished rooms u can be just as happy and pleased with the non. Good size, clean bathroom, lovely hot shower and even an iron board in the room. Very nice location with restaurants like Kayal and The Tiffin round the corner. ..

We stayed here to attend a wedding just outside of Leicester. It’s a nice little hotel, our room was basic, but clean. Staff were friendly and helpful and accommodated a crowd of us when we returned from the wedding and wanted to finish the night off with a final drink in the bar.
The breakfasts were tasty and plentiful.
Getting around the hotel was a bit of a nightmare – the corridors are a bit of a maze.
I saw a few different rooms and they varied in size, some were pretty big, others on the small size. But none that I saw were tiny box rooms.
Overall a good value comfortable hotel stay.

Over a recent weekend 16 people attended a very successful University reunion function at this hotel. As the organisor I found the hotel very helpful. Requests& queries over the proceeding months of planning were handled calmly & effeciently by sales director Alison Coulam who was brilliant. Over the weekend everything went smoothly as planned--including dietary& room requirements etc. The dinner was held in the 'May' room--which is ideal for a small private function, having its own bar. The quality of the food was good, although choice was somewhat limited. Service was excellent--and the staff were only too happy to help with an on the night request for laptop & projector equipment. The final costs were as previously agreed (no nasty surprises) and represented good value for money overall. Rooms were very comfortable, clean & modern--although some were a little small & could have done with a brighter central light. Breakfast was excellent with a very wide selection of hot & cold and you can eat as much as you like. Overall a most enjoyable stay---Personally I would have no reservation about using this hotel for a similar event in the future.

Room Tip: Go to floor 2---little chance of hearing any noise from below--when we stayed there was a wedding di...

We Have stayed at the Belmont on previous occasions, it is a lovely quality hotel with a old fashioned feel, the type of hotel that I really like. I noticed upon check in that it has a certificate of excellence but unfortunately the excellence does not extend to the food and food quality. The public areas were clean and tidy and the rooms was very good but we had dinner on our first night and there were many things wrong. We pointed out its shortcomings to the waiter at the time and to the receptionist on booking out. But worse was to come, one of the reasons for choosing the Belmont is that it one of the few restaurants that still offer smoked haddock and poached eggs for breakfast, one of my favourites and not available where I live in Turkey. I was really looking forward to this, but unfortunately they only had one portion on the first morning, which my partner had and I was left without, thinking that I could order it the next day. How wrong I was as they had none at all the next day. I did point out that the Tesco and Sansiburys sell it but that fell on deaf ears.
Upon Checking out we complained to the receptionist who was very understanding and gave us the discount that she was permitted and assured us that the Operations Manager would be in contact with us by email or telephone to discuss the matter. It has been three weeks now and we are still waiting!

Thanks so much for the five star scores for rooms, sleep quality, cleanliness and location.

I'm so sorry for the issues with your intial meal, but very glad to hear my team made an appropriate gesture as recompense for this. I'm also very sorry about the lack of kippers - a member of my breakfast team has been very distracted due to personal circumstances and has now taken some time away from work to resolve this. We appreciate that many regular guests look forward to breakfast at the hotel as most of the time (When numbers permit) it is still service at the table rather than a buffet like so many other hotels now. We endeavour to keep improving

We spent Saturday night in this hotel having been invited and asked to play our Disco at a wedding. The room was spacious and very elegant with a lovely bathroom and a small walk in Wardrobe. The Bowie Reception room was small but sufficient for our needs of 80 guests. Bar was Hotel prices 5.95 for a glass of prosecco and £7 a glass on Sauvignon blanc but you expect that unfortunately in City hotels. Whilst the ceremony was going on we kept our 2 two year old boys in reception of Jamies Bar to keep them busy and the barman gave them some packets crisps. We had a lovely walk into the City of Leicester along New Walk. Breakfast the next morning was excellent. Staff all very friendly and helpful. My daughter and her boys room was also excellent although not quite as spacious as ours.. The hotel didn't have any spare travel cots but informed her beforehand so she provided her own. For the price we paid it was excellent. We have paid far more for a lesser room in other hotels.

Room Tip: We had room 128 The window opened up above the main reception entrance outside so there was some n...

Rooms are nice and clean, great location. The food here was poor the chips were under cooked and the burger was raw I didn't eat it and refused to pay, the manager didn't seem bothered I found a great Indian 5 minutes down the road called Kayal, I would highly recommend it
