Planning your wedding can be a daunting prospect but the team made our day go so smoothly. From the initiial planning to the 'fine tuning' to the day itself, The Stage staff were great. When they say'it's your day' they mean it!Nothing was too much trouble. We didn't want an inflexible drinks/meal/disco wedding (and when we did our research, most places offered just a set package with no room for manoevre) They work with you to put together what YOU want for your day. Our co-ordinator was helpful and responsive to last minute changes. She was great at contending with a stressed bride dealing with being let down over some arrangements(not The Stage's) five days before the wedding. The event manager on the day worked with our Best Man and Maid of Honour to look after our guests until we arrived. It was the little things that made a difference. So many of our guests made a point of telling us how much they'd enjoyed the day and how friendly and helpful people were. One member of staff told us on Sunday morning that they were disappointed to go off duty during the evening as they were enjoying being at our event! We had an amazing day.If you're looking to plan your wedding, it's worth talking to The Stage team if you want a day personal to who you are.

This hotel has a nice reception area but is dark and dingy as soon as you go beyond this. The room was adequate if a little rough around the edges. The hotel has a tired and dated look.

Evening meal was of a good standard but breakfast was woeful.

Staff try to be friendly but it doesn't make up for the other deficiencies.
One thing I disliked is that members of the public can wander into other wings of the hotel without passing reception so for security and safety it was a bit lacking.

Thanks for your review and whilst I am pleased you enjoyed your stay and sorry that you feel the hotel dated. I have asked David, the GM to look at breakfast as this is extremely popular and I am not sure why you were disappointed.

From a security point of view, external doors are locked at night with access strictly limited via reception and the hotel has CCTV. From a safety point of view we cannot lock off parts of the hotel to some guests and not to others.

Kindest regards

David

Better than I thought from the outside but well below par. Dingy and dark, food very average however had a lunch buffet the following day which was far better. Noisy rooms. Expensive bar as normal with hotels the bar looked like you were on a P and O ferry!

Room Tip: Look for better.

Upon arriving at the state I was pleasantly surprised by the light, modern and airy reception area. The Receptionists were friendly and efficient. After leaving reception and making my way to the room things change, the corridors are dark and dingy and in need of modernisation. The rooms are the same, but are comfortable. Breakfast is supposed to start at 07.00 first day there was a queue waiting and subsequent days again the restaurant was not ready or open.
The food in the hotel did slightly get better as the stay progressed, the ideas are good but don’t transfer into what sits in front of you. The restaurant is of a modern style with large windows light and airy. Staff were the saving grace, especially those behind the bar
From a business perspective it’s not good I had to complain to reception about the awful wifi. I couldn’t even access cloud, and ended up using my smart phone to be able to contact people and client’s. this I found exceptionally shabby.
The hotel rooms need an update, wifi needs sorting not good

We stayed here for 2 nights, on an offer deal (DBB first night, BB second).

Our welcome was pleasant, the room was comfortable, however dated, the spa in the hotel very small, in need of a good clean and the jacuzzi not in use during our stay, so disappointing. No secure lockable area to keep your things, so would recommend you take your own padlock if leaving clothes, bags etc in the changing area.

The waiting staff in the restaurant was very friendly and helpful, the food was tasty, however the steak was not the best quality (£20 including sauce of choice).

Central location within Leicester for amenities.

On check in we where told that the restaurant and bar would be closed for the evening due to weddings taking place. Prior warning would have been nice. Just aswell we had made plans to eat out.
Room was clean just dated and in need of a face lift throughout. Breakfast was nice and staff friendly enough. Hotel just needs some tlc.

Stayed overnight after attending a wedding reception. Room was slightly tired in appearance , but otherwise comfortable with good choice of tv channels, and tea / coffee making facilities. Good choice at breakfast and staff very helpful. Opted for a late check out so we could use the spa facilities - the spa was ok, though there is only 1 lounger and a couple of chairs by the pool. Good as an overnight stay.
