Its true you get what you pay for.
The kitchen are obviously trying hard to increase the standard of food served. I had sunday lunch with 2 guests and the 3 course Sunday Lunch menu for £12.95 was ok. I would say that the toast for the pate should be crisp or warm or ideally both. The soggy cold toast we were served could have been left over from breakfast. But that apart the soup and pate were nice. For mains we had the roast beef which was delicious and cooked just right. The yorkshire puddings apparently were a bit dry and we should perhaps have asked for a bit more gravy to moisten them. The slow roast pork was nice as was the crackling and apple slices served with it Apple crumble and Chocolate tart desserts again were nice. Effort had been taken in the presentation of the food and I hope that moving forward the efforts being made to improve the standard will continue and the restaurant will again become the venue of choice in the area for that 'Special' meal.
