Perfect night, great value u get so much more than what you pay for. Friendly staff, quiet basic room, bed was comfy. Don't expect too much but really perfect for what it is- a place to rest your head before getting on your way.

We booked two rooms close together. We had an issue with one room: it stank of tobacco smoke and the toilet roll holder had been knocked off the wall. The receptionist handled it perfectly. She was very apologetic, said she'd report it to management (the whole hotel is supposed to be non-smoking), instantly moved us to another nearby room and gave us complimentary drinks tokens. Sorted.

She also gave us a cheaper breakfast offer than we had pre-booked on the website. Note to webmaster: don't quote a more expensive price for breakfast than is available at the property; it hurts consumer confidence in your integrity. Again, the receptionist sorted it.

Otherwise everything was fine. Clean, neat, functional; I like it that way. The futon style mattress is interestingly thin but I got two good nights sleep. Just remember to bring a smallish bag and don't expect to be able to unpack it!

I have family in north Leicester so the location 11 minutes from the M1 is ideal for me.

Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your thoughts about your recent first stay at Ibis Budget Leicester.

It was a pleasure to hear your positive feedback in regards to a clean, neat and a functional room. I am sincerely sorry in regards to the first room, clearly a oversight on our behalf for a room which was supposed to be out of service. I am very glad the reception staff managed to resolve the issues immediately to meet your expectations.

We are due for a refurb of our rooms next year and during this period we will be looking in to replacing the bed base and mattress unfortunately I can not advise you when exactly this will be so. I hope that you will give us the opportunity to welcome you back to the ibis budget Leicester and provide you with a genuine hassle-free experience.

Yours sincerely,

M Solanki

Stayed here for 2 nights and was more than satisfied by this hotel. We've stayed at an Etap before so knew that it would be no frills which was fine at £20 a night, we brought our own tea/coffee making gear so it wasn't a problem.
The room was very modern and bright, it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, we asked for extra pillows and were immediately given them. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The park and ride across the road was very useful as we could leave our car on the free hotel car park and get into town with no hassle.
Although it's by major roads the double glazing works well and there isn't any intrusive noise.
Definitely worth staying here.

I'm really pleased that you found the staff very friendly and helpful during your stay with us and the room were very modern and bright, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. As someone who stays over in Leicester on a weekly basis, I've always used a hotel in the centre of town. With that hotel being full this week, I decided to give this one a go.

The cheapest hotel in Leicester by far, I've seen rooms for as low as £18 per night, though mine was a more modest £30.

The first thing to say is that the hotel makes the grade. For what you pay, you get. A clean room, warm room, en suite toilet and a walk in shower. A desk, a plug socket and towels. I was suprised not to get any shower gel but hey, what was I expecting for the price? The staff were all friendly and extremely helpful and there was ample car parking. One review on here says that the road kept them awake all night. I didn't have that problem, as I kept my window closed though, if you did want it open, the road is noisy.

What let this hotel down is the location; that's not the hotel's fault, but it is worth baring in mind. While it is undoubtably well connected by road to Leicester, Loughborough and probably Derby and Nottingham, its situation in an A-Road service station means there are no facilities within walking distance; no bars/pubs, no cafes, no parks, no shops. There is no WiFi in the rooms and in the public area it costs over the odds (though not as bad as many hotels). The 3G signal was low or non existent in the room and there were few channels of television.

The reception does sell some service-station esq sandwiches and some bottles of lager (and cans of G&T), but that hardly makes for a bar or atmosphere. That said, for the price, that isn't bad and the hotel can hardly up sticks and move to a better place.

But the fact still remains that there's very little to do but do what work you can offline and then go to sleep....and a very comfortable sleep it was too!

Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide us with your thoughts about your recent stay at ibis budget Leicester.

I'm very pleased that you found the staff friendly and extremely helpful during your stay with us and the rooms although basic but were clean, warm and value for money. Wifi service will be available in the rooms sometime next year which may be payable, but it will be free in the public area. The Birstall village is just fifteen minutes walk from the hotel with banks, various local trading shops, pubs and restaurants.

Thank you also, for leaving a helpful review for our future guests. I am going to share your comments with all of my team who I am sure will be delighted to learn that their efforts have been appreciated.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Ibis Budget hotel Leicester in the future.
