“Fab pub and great atmosphere”
Reviewed September 1, 2013 via mobile

My hubbie and I called in here on Saturday night for a drink and we we are so glad we did.
The young man who served us is an asset to the pub he was warm, friendly and really helpful giving my hubbie sample beers to try.
The vibe here was great a nice friendly atmosphere and very cosy.
We will definately be using this pub again.
Well done all at The Globe.

“Very good pub in the heart of Leicester”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

The Globe has been synonymous with serving fine ales and food since 1720, where quality ales were brewed using spring water drawn from its own well beneath the pub, which still exists today.

Prior to becoming a public house, the Globe had several interesting uses, including a cattle merchants and accommodation for women awaiting impending execution at the hands of the noose man in nearby Gallowtree Gate.

This may go some way to explaining the reported haunting within the premises, which includes the ghost of a woman on the stairs, two disagreeing brothers that argue over the bar and a young boy in the cellar who turns off the beer!

The Globe is a regular drinking hole of mine and I never leave disappointed. A selection of specialised ales and ciders compliment the Globes' regular Everards bitters. The service is always attentive and the food is always tasty and fulfilling and the atmosphere is. If you are wanting to take a large group then booking will be essential there is a large upstairs room which is used when the ground floor is busy.

Overall a very good pub found in the lanes in Leicester city centre, a stones throw away from the cathedral, guildhall, and the Highcross Shopping Centre.

“Not as good as it was last few visits”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

Went for Sunday lunch, don't know if they were having problems but it was chaos. Orders forgotten ,people having to ask for the sauces that should accompany meals and the very simple meals took ages to arrive. I only had fish and chips but it took ages and when it came it was all batter. The starter was one mushroom , a joke really. Have been about five times in the past but I'm afraid that will be our last time. Shame.
