Had a wonderful meal today in this restaurant. Our waitress Angela was amazing. Very friendly and couldn't do enough for us.

My children aged 4 and 6 visited Harry Ramsden's on Wed 27th August. After a short wait we were shown to our table, given menus and told our waitress would be with us shortly. It was really busy, but we waited around 15 minutes for our order to be taken, and a further 10 minutes or so for our drinks to be brought out, food followed shortly after.
The children's meals were a good size and came with a soft drink, and my small fish and chips was plenty coming with delicious tartare sauce and mushy peas.
We all really enjoyed our food!! Wine a bit pricey though :-(

What has happened to our beloved Harry Ramsdens? We noticed a change last year with the new menu although at that visit the food was fine. However, this visit in August 2014 was so disappointing - not only has the restaurant been refitted in a modern style but the fish and chips were just not what you expect from Harry Ramsdens.

The batter on the haddock was soggy and certainly not the unique flavour you expect from being cooked in beef dripping, and the "regular" portion size was small, as was the number of chips served. This was no better than any old average fish and chips meal which can be got for half the price in any number of establishments elsewhere in Blackpool.

As for the refurbishment, the very essence of Harry Ramsdens has been lost, as has it's appeal for us - what a shame.

First time for my teenagers at Harry's, I think I may have over built their expectations. Nothing wrong as such, just a bit over priced, a bit overcooked & limp, a bit processed - us not the food.. Never going to be a culinary experience, but somehow I had hoped at least for crisp batter and well cooked fish. Oh well..we ate up, paid up & enjoyed our walk along the pier..
