I stayed in the helmshore for a girlie weeknd with my friends in October. Firstly I would like to thank Jenny and Terry for their warm welcome. We had a fabulous stay. Location excellent within walking distance of everything. The hotel itself was extremely clean, warm and we had gorgeous breakfast both mornings, warm and filling, the hosts couldn't do enough for us. Also only a short drive to the airport.

I would highly recommend a stay at the Helmshore good facilities, value for money and a very welcoming atmosphere.

Stayed at the Helmshore Hotel to see the illuminations. Unfortunatly the weather was not too kind.
In giving a balanced view of this, the negative would be the limited parking at the hotel with about 5 parking places for guests at the back of the hotel....... on a first come first serve basis.....There is a public car park about 300 yards up the road but again this appears to serve all the other hotels in the road as well so again its grab what you can..... As the weather was really poor this was very much an inconvienience having to unload in the wet and then drive away to find a car spot. It costs £5 to park on the public one per 24 hours.
The hotel is very tidy and clean with a lift to all floors. The room was very clean and in good repair......... The decor in room 30 was mainly artex walls etc but again painted well. The room was spacious and sleeps 3 people if needed.
The facilities are good.
As the weather was poor it was decided a trip to the Tower circus was needed and i was able to book this through the hotel and it does work out much cheaper this way.
After returning from the circus and lights it was time for a drink in the bar which is in the basement. This again is very good condition with a newly refurbished bar area. The seating is comfortable and the host of the hotel makes you welcome for a pint or two..... there is a pool table for those so inclined.
Breakfast is set for a certain time where all will assemble in the bar area before being door being unlocked and allowed into the dining troom. This was 9 oclock . The doors opened and we all filed in. I found this a little odd. On this day you had to be out of the hotel by 10 am so it was quick breakfast and then checkout.
I must say in balance. the cooked breakfast was very good and presented well. There is cereal juice etc.
I must compliment the hotel on the breakfast staff who were efficient, professional and a credit. They worked well together making sure all were tended to.
On leaving the hotel i felt it was a pleasant stay and enjoyed the room, the bar and the breakfast. The only downside which the hotel cannot help because of its location is the limited parking.
Would i stay in this hotel again. Yes.

Room Tip: Be aware limited parking

Donna, Sonia and I stayed in Helmshore Hotel last weekend. We had a fab time. Jenny and Terry are great hoteliers, so friendly and take pride in absolutely everything they do. The Hotel is centrally located so was ideal for us. We had a triple room which can be hard to get and the room was clean, comfy and warm. Breakfasts are superb, thank you Jenny. Pity we couldnt have stayed longer, but we will definitely be back to stay in Helmshore again :-)

Had a nice stay at the Helmshore, on arrival we had a friendly greeting directing us on parking and helping us to leave our bags whilst we sorted out car parking out. ( just a small walk away ) we then checked in and were directed to our family room. The Room wasn't huge but ample for what we needed, decor abit dated but warm and clean!
We were impressed with the lift as we had a little one with us and the bar area was warm and friendly with plenty of room for the kids to play whilst we had a little drink.
Breakfast was plentiful and everyone was really friendly the owner Jenny even coming out to ask if everyone was ok. Only comment I would say is that the toast is already on your table and was freezing cold so maybe this should come fresh with the breakfast.
To be honest I didn't sleep very well, nothing to do with the bed or the room just that an inconsiderate guest had left their telly on all night and thats all i could hear in the adjoining room which was rather annoying.
Lovely little hotel which we would definetly visit again if we come to blackpool.

Found this B&B to be of a reasonable standard and well situated within Blackpool. Staff are friendly, breakfast was good and the rooms were okay.
There are limited parking spaces available but further parking (paid) situated close by. It's centrally located so ideal for social weekends etc. the pleasure beach is at the far end of blackpool but it's around 15/20 minute walk or you can take a tram which is about 5 mins walk from the b&b. The is a good sized bar in the basement with a pool table and juke box.

After a long day riding down from Inverness it was great to find a small family run hotel with vacancies. I was greeted by Jenny who was very friendly and offered a warm welcome. The hotel offered ample and safe parking for the bike, a clean warm room, friendly atmosphere and marvellous breakfast which made my one night in Blackpool a very pleasant experience. Thanks Terrry and Jenny and all the best. Ian
