What a rip off !!, long cues, dirty changing rooms, expensive and bad food.
No chance to get on the few better rides due to waiting times of over 30 minutes.
Do not waiste your money here !!

“Great day out for kids”
Reviewed September 6, 2010

We went here on the first Sunday in September with our 6 and 9 year old boys who are both fairly confident swimmers. They absolutely loved it. We didn't go on the Masterblaster and Sidewinder which cost extra but we spent five hours or so happily enjoying the other slides and features. The lazy river was a favourite - the waterflow propels you along but this is only really for kids who are confident in water - even then, I was keeping a close eye on our 6 yr old and making sure he had a surf board to hang on to. The wave pool is also brilliant, every so often, the waves are switched on and it's lots of fun.

Although there are some areas designated for younger kids and toddlers, it does get very busy and I think the place as a whole is best for kids who are at least school age.

The best time to arrive is as soon as it opens. It is reasonably quiet then but by lunchtime it was heaving and definitely not as much fun later on.

There is plenty of pool-side seating for eating or just to watch if you don't want to go in. For lunch, we went to the self-service Bongo Bongo Burger Shack and kids meals (burger in bun, chips and drink) were £3.50 and adults meal including drink was £5.50. Not a huge meal but it was just a quick pit-stop anyway before going back in the water. You don't need to get changed for your lunch - we just went back to the lockers for our towels to dry off a little and then wrapped towels around us whilst we sat for lunch.

Staff and lifeguards are very good here - friendly and helpful. There are loads of lifeguards stationed all around the pool and they are fairly proactive - they are in the pool as well as standing at strategic points.

All in all, a great day out.

“Fantastic day out”
Reviewed September 1, 2010

We took our grandchildren to the Waterpark on 31/8/10 and had a brilliant time, made all the better with excellent staff , the staff are a credit to the company they work for, had full confidence in the lifeguards, one of them checked out how well our grandson could swim before he let him on one of the slides which as he explained to us later was quite a fast exit and the ability to swim was important, we very much appreciated this approach which indicated to us a high standard of training

“Way too busy!”
Reviewed August 23, 2010

Myself, partner and two children arrived at blackpool sandcastle about 12ish. There was absolutley no where to park...so we went under the pleasure beach tunnel...carried on and ended up parking in the rear carpark. (this cost around £8.00 for three hours) It was a good 10-15 minute walk..and when we arrived we couldnt beleive the queue! They even told people it would be a good idea to come back at a later time. But we carried on waiting...as the kids were really looking forward to it. 45 mins later they let us in at a good price...considering we are blackpool residents...so that was good. As we entered the changing rooms, it was hectic. We couldnt find a changing room at first...and had to wait. We finally made our way to the pool/pools and you couldnt tell where the water began or finished! people everywhere. I am very suprised they allowed that many in. It was ridiculous. I mean...cmon...what ever happend to health and safety? There was no where to swim. Even if you attempted to...you sure got kicked in the stomach/face/back...everywhere really! Nobody gave a frigging damn!! We spent more time out of the water than in! We went on one of the gentle giant slides once. That was about 20-25 minute queue. So after two hours we decided to get out. Same problem again in the changing rooms...it was packed! But remember...for the kids...this is a great fun place....and grinning and bearing it is the best thing to do!!

“great day out”
Reviewed August 18, 2010

I recently visited sandcastle waterpark blackpool with my son, niece and nephew. All I can say is that we had a fantastic time, every member of staff was exceptionally helpful and polite I would also like to add that the majority of the staff were young adults so eliminating the myth that the youth of today have no respect for others!! Having visited many places over the years with rude unhelpful staff I found the waterpark a breath of fresh air. There was plenty to do for all ages fantastic water rides, tidal pool and play areas. Food and beverages were also available.
As this was my first time I was not fully prepared, so I suggest you take two towels each one for poolside and one for changing. There are two lots of lockers so you can leave your clothes in the main changing area and take things you might need to the poolside lockers.
The children all had a fabulous time as did I and we will definately be returning.
