If you visit Blackpool and want good value for money, don't waste time looking elsewhere. This is "the" place to stay! Spotlessly clean and well situated with excellent food and owners who can't do enough for you. We were part of a small group and took over the whole hotel - we had a ball! We will be returning again in the future. There must be some good hotels in Blackpool if there are 82 beter than this one - somehow I doubt it.

We stayed at the Scala during March 09.

The hotel is located right behind the Pleasure Beach - so close in fact that I could hear the 'Pepsi Max' from my bedroom!! Obviously if you want the Pleasure Beach this hotel is ideal....however, if you wan to be more central the bus/tram stops are just a few minutes walk. There is a small car park at the front of the hotel, but there is ample street parking if the spaces are full.

The first thing that strikes you is how clean the hotel is. The owners take great pride in the appearance of the hotel and it is spotlessly clean. I've stayed in some hell-holes in Blackpool and this hotel is in another league.

On the night, we decided to eat at the hotel and it was really very good. £8 for a three course dinner is excellent value. The main course of roast Turkey was absolutely lovely. I would recommend the 'meal deal' to anyone.

The owners are also very friendly and couldn't do enough to help us.

If you are after a good value, relaxed hotel right next to the pleasure beach, I would recommend this hotel without hesitation. We will definitely be returning.

I've stayed at the Scala twice and both times the service has been really good. In particular, being a vegan, I notice food a lot and they were pretty accomodating to my needs - giving me soya milk and margarine, despite not staying long. The breakfasts are filling - plan on not having to bother with lunch! The owners are friendly, the rooms clean and tidy, it's very close to the Pleasure Beach and it's not expensive. I can't fault it and would recommend it to anyone.
